Fish Key West - The Coolcast

(20) Just booked!
1801 N Roosevelt Blvd
Key West FL, United States

Fish Key West Florida utilizes a variety of different methods of fishing, depending on the time of year, the sea conditions, water and air temperature, currents and other factors. We fish anywhere from form 1 mile out for giant Tarpon to 90 miles out past the Dry Tortugas for a variety of exotic species; Sailfish, Mahi-mahi, Tuna, Sharks, Wahoo, Cobia, King Mackeral, Permit, Snapper and Grouper we catch them all.

The Coolcast does everything well. It’s not any one thing, as much as it is the combination of everything: the hull design, interior layout, and ergonomics. It handles big seas with ease. The ride is dry and comfortable. Everything is where it should be… it’s one of those rare fishing boats where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Given an overall length of 36 feet, the Coolcast can access some pretty shallow water. With the motors trimmed up she only draws 24”, and even less when on plane at speed.

About the Captain

Damon Santelli
Key West, Florida, United States
Member since June 2014
Before becoming a full time charter captain, Damon Santelli was a commercial fisherman in Key West for 10 years. Making a living catching fish with rod and reel has given Damon experience which cannot be matched. He has caught Snapper and Grouper in the summer and spring, and then puts 1250 lbs of king fish in the boat almost every day throughout the winter months. Giving up a full time office position to pursue his passion of a life on the water has proven to be a great decision 15 years ago. Damon has great patience and a calm demeanor to help guide you to a great fishing trip for your family and friends. With many commercial fishing records such as 1232 lbs of yellow tail snapper caught in one day, Damon’s trip is not one to miss! Please come join Fish Key West Florida and Damon for a fishing trip of a lifetime.

Captain Cory was very nice. He was quite patient.  Bite was a bit slow here in mid to late March, and it was a little windy, but Captain Corey was able to put us on some reef fish including yellowtail snapper which was enough for dinner. We also caught some American red snapper as well, but they were out of season. Overall we had a fun time and I would recommend this trip
