Finquest Sportfising is an ideal choice for a Lake Michigan fishing charter. The captain has over 40 years of experience on the lake, having lived and fished Kenosha his whole life.
Finquest Charters uses all top-of-the-line equipment and all of the upcoming innovations and advances in the Great Lakes fishing. The captain will take you out aboard a spacious 35-foot Trojan motor yacht. With an open cockpit layout and removable screens, the vessel is weatherproof. It meets and even exceeds all U.S.C.G. safety and equipment requirements. Inside, there is a coach, a v-berth, and a dinette, as well as a clean bathroom with an electric flush toilet. The boat comes powered by twin 350 HP Mercruiser C.I. V-8 engines to push through Lake Michigan. Perfect for accommodating up to six anglers, it is fully rigged with state-of-the-art navigational electronics and sport fishing equipment.
The open water fishing season starts mid-April, when the Brown Trout and Coho Salmon fishing begins. Mid-May brings the 'hottest bite on the lake' - Coho that range from 3 to 6 lbs. In mid-June the weather gets more stable and the fish are getting bigger. The captain heads offshore to the deeper waters to get a 'Grand Slam' in his cooler.
July through August is the trophy time with the fish at their peak size of the year. Depending on the water temperature and the weather, you can go fishing in very shallow water.
There is less traffic on the water in September and October but the fishing can be quite hot. It is the best time to chase 3-year-old Kings, Rainbows, and Lakers. Lake Trout spawn in November and can put on the feed bag before that.
All trips come inclusive with exclusive Shimano Talora rods, Tekota reels, tackle, and lures. The captain will send your catch home cleaned and bagged, ready to go right into the frying pan! Want to increase the amount of catch in your cooler? The captain recommends 6 or 8 hr trips.
Please note that two-day fishing licenses are $15. each.

Captain Tim was right on time and met us at 4 a.m. on the dot, and as soon as we got there, we took off in the boat fishing. The fishing that he had was excellent. We caught our limit very quickly and finished our morning tour after starting at 4 a.m. We were completed by 7:30. It was supposed to be a five-hour trip, so we were well within that timeframe and catching our limit and getting back to shore early. Captain Tim is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He’s been doing these for this charter for some 27 years, and it shows. We immediately caught our first fish as soon as we put the lines down within 10 minutes. We got our first fish, and they just kept coming and coming and coming, so when I read in the reviews of Finquest and Captain Tim, they said, “Oh, we’ll catch fish.” “We caught fish,” and you know you’re always kind of hesitant on that. I’ll tell you what, it’s absolutely true. We caught fish, and you will too, and I think you’ll be very pleased if you choose him. Good luck to you.

My sons and I had a fantastic day of fishing with Capt. Tim. He definitely knows how to get you on fish! He was super attentive and had all the gear and more! He put out all sorts of lure combinations and the three of us had a really productive afternoon bite. 16 fish hooked up, 14 landed. Coho, King, Lake trout and Rainbows. He fileted the fish on the trip back and we came home with about 25+ lbs of delicious filets. It was a great charter and highly recommend him.

Tim did everything possible to make our fishing trip a huge success. We went out about 13 miles and caught our limit of coho and king salmon. He filleted the fish on the way back and we left with quite a haul. He’s a great captain and works hard for his clients.
BEST trip ever!!! Captain Tim went above and beyond and knew exactly where to find the fish. Never a dull moment! Would definitely go again!
we caught a lot: lake trout, rainbow trout, king and coho salmon…. the captain was working hard bit also entertaining and funny. If I return with my family we would prefer to ho fishing again with Tim

When I was 3 years old my Dad took me on the lake fishing for Perch. I have lived in Kenosha ,WI all my life, never more than a mile from the lake. I've seen many changes to the lakefront from a commercial/ industrial environment to a recreational / tourist friendly / entertainment location. I don't know of many days when I'm not down by the lake. Fishing over the years has become an addiction, a way of life for me. I worked construction for over 30 years. It was a tough way to make a living, but it made it possible to obtain a boat and follow my life's goal of becoming a Charter Captain. It is more satisfying for to me watch a customer catch the fish that he has been wanting to catch than for me to bring it in myself. Sometimes a fish gets off the line, but we will get another one! My main goal on the boat is to make sure everyone has a good time and it is a positive experience. We catch a lot of fish! But, that doesn't matter if it's not a great experience for everyone on the boat.
