Stray Cat Charters Galveston 

I gave my husband, son in law and grandson a fishing trip for Fathers Day and they had the best time with Captain Jerry! He is great with kids and they caught plenty of fish! Storms were rolling in through Galveston this morning so Captain Jerry called to delay the trip to let the storms pass instead of just canceling. His first mate was super nice and my grandson said he liked this trip the best out of the others they have taken over the years. We will for sure book again with Captain Jerry our next trip to Galveston!!! Thanks for giving my guys such a fun trip and making their day!!

My family had a blast on our jetty fishing trip! Captain Jerry has a great heart and quick wit and was a pleasure spending a few hours with on the boat. We caught plenty of fish in all the species we were hoping for. The Captain’s expertise and friendly connections made sure we found the ‘hot spots’ to keep on catching! The highlight of our trip was hooking into a large Jack Crevalle and orchestrating a team effort to land it after a good fight. We also enjoyed catching plenty of speckled trout, sheepshead, redfish, and catfish. As catch and release fishermen, we appreciated the extra care spent in making sure all our catches were handled correctly and released quickly in order to not disrupt their health. A unique part of this charter was the included “first mate”, who was fantastic at helping us keep our lines in the water with fresh live bait, and netting our catches. The boat itself is very comfortable and large, with shade to retreat to if needed and a proper toilet, which was a huge selling point for my mother. Our experience with this charter was amazing, and we would absolutely book them time and time again if we find ourselves back on the island. Thanks y’all for the memories!

This was a fun action packed fishing excursion for my family. The sheepshead were biting but getting them landed was tricky yet four of the five in our group caught limits. Brian the first mate was fun and good with the kids and Captain Jerry was personable and knowledgeable. I will definitely book a trip with them again whenever I'm in the area!

Best family outing a dad can have with grown kids and grown grandchildren. Since I am not a saltwater fisherman, Fishing Booker made it easy to find Captain Jerry Praker and Stray Cat Fishing Charter. Captain Praker took the time to check with me a week in advance as I was messaging him questions about the trip. He took the time to ask questions about what we wanted to fish for, what things to bring aboard, and what to leave behind. We talked about my party group so he would know what equipment to have on board. The morning of our trip, my group was met by Captain Praker on the dock by his boat. He and Jordan had just finished the preparations and discovered some of the live bait needed to be replaced. While Jordan took care of the bait, Captain Praker met my group and got us settled on board. We talked about what our fishing plan would be, catch some eating fish first, then time permitting try for some game fish. When Jordan returned, we set off just a few minutes later than planned, but we made it up on the delayed return back in. From my experience on other trips booked by other people, no one has a deck hand as good as Jordan. I quickly learned that my party of 6 was pushing the boundaries of non-party boat fishing. That didn't slow Jordan down. He and my kids hit it off well, since we all love fishing, and that made the experience great. Jordan was patient with us as we were all trying to fish at the same time. Lines would need bait, a fish needed to be netted, a line would need to be rerigged after hanging up in the rocks. When the activity got busy, Captain Praker was rerigging lines and moving reel handles to the opposite side. They are a great crew, watching over everything going on, even stepping in and assisting one of my group when she got sick. The best thing for us, everyone caught fish. Some were keepers, some weren't. A few of the fish were totally unexpected. We had the absolute best time. If you are wanting to go saltwater fishing, you won't go wrong signing on with Captain Jerry Praker and Stray Cat Fishing Charter.

Our trip was great and although we didn’t catch any “whoopers!” We had an excellent time. Jerry and Brian were a lot of fun. Captain Praker kept us very informed. We would definitely recommend The Stray Cat and once you meet the captain you will know why the name of the boat.

Captain Jerry knew the weather conditions, the correct bait, and fishing spots assuring that we would enjoy our time on the water. There were four in our party and the Stray Cat easily accommodated all of us it is a very comfortable boat with all the amenities one would need. The bonus was we all caught several fish. We had a great time! Ed
