WORLD CLASS FISHING!
Marshland Adventures invites you on an unforgettable adventure fishing Lake Pontchartrain and the surronding Louisiana Coast. This charter is dedicated to showing our guests exactly why Louisiana is known as the “Sportsman’s Paradise”.

Your host, Captain Steve Himel, has fished these waters professionally for over 30 years, and is devoted to providing a memorable and enjoyable fishing experience to everyone on board.

Fishing is done aboard a 25-foot Custom center console with a capacity for 5 persons. Powered by a 250 HP Mercury Optimax engine and a Minn Kota Riptide Instinct trolling motor. The boat has a maximum cruising speed of 40 knots, this boat is fast and reliable and also featurs a GPS and a fishfinder used to locate the fish, this boat makes for a very productive and roomy fishing platform. It also had a livewell and an icebox for your catch.

Marshland Adventures offers the finest light tackle fishing on the Louisiana Coast in Lake Pontchartrain and the surronding marshes and bayous. In these waters, you will be able to target many species of fish including Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Croaker, Sheepshead, and other species ready to do battle. Our guests are amazed at the variety of species we catch, often catching 5-7 different species of fish during their trip. Whether you are an expert or a novice, Captain Steve will demonstrate the techniques and methods to reel in the big ones!

Captain Steve’s charters include fuel, rods, Penn reels, tackle, bait, and ice. Once the trip is over, we will clean and package your catch while you relax dockside under our beautuful waterfront patio overlooking the bayou. You will want to bring an ice chest to transport your cleaned fish filets. We can even provide tips on how to prepare your prized catch. Captain Steve will work hard to ensure your trip is enjoyable for you and your party.

Guests should bring sunscreen, sun glasses, non skid shoes, food, drinks, & small cooler.

Action and Variety
6 Hour Trip - Lake Pontchartrain on May 4, 20261 adult
Captain Steve Himel is one of the best fishing guides I have ever fished with, and I have fished with dozens. This time I told him I hoped for action and variety, and my goodness did he deliver. Action? Check. I caught 25 fish. Variety? Check. I caught 13 spotted seatrout, 7 Atlantic croakers, a southern flounder, an Atlantic stingray, a hardhead catfish, and 2 channel catfish. It is really fun to fish with Steve because I always know that it's going to be a very successful day on the water.

Great Trip Looking Forward to the Next!
Half Day Trip – Lake Pontchartrain on May 23, 20264 adults
Rain was forecasted. Capt was in constant communication throughout the week as weather forecasts changed. we decided to go out until the came in. Capt took us far enough out to get some action and close enough to get back to dock when the rain came. He took us out and in an hour and a half we smoked em! Great energy on the boat and Capt knows the water.

Captain Steve Knows Where the Fish Are
6 Hour Trip - Lake Pontchartrain on May 28, 20251 adult
I enjoyed a hot, humid, cloudless summer day in Sportsman's Paradise on Lake Pontchartrain with Captain Steve. I said I'd like to catch 5 species of fish, and I did even better: 7. With Steve taking us where the fish were biting, I caught speckled trout, black drum, gafftopsail catfish, croakers, hardhead catfish, white trout, and a big blue catfish. I only return where the fishing was great the first time. I'm already planning to go back next year. I wholeheartedly endorse Captain Steve.

A dream Trip
6 Hour Trip - Lake Pontchartrain on May 5, 20242 adults
My best friend and I had a fantastic with Captain Steve. Everything was very seamless. He was able to get us on fish quickly and effectively. We caught 9 different species of fish, including; black drum, redfish and speckled trout (probably 100-120 fish in total were caught) His boat was in great condition and he had everything we needed as far as bait and rods & reels. We joked and laughed like we’d known each other for years. This trip was an ABSOLUTE dream of ours. Dakota and myself want to thank Captain Steve for an amazing day, and we will definitely be coming back for another adventure.
