About this listing
Captain John of Paradise Sportfishing Adventures specializes in calm-water estuary fishing excursions throughout the productive Cairns Trinity Inlet. John owns and operates a 7.5 meter (25ft) custom-built estuary boat, propelled by a 130HP Honda four-stroke outboard engine, with a maximum passenger capacity of 8 anglers per trip. The vessel is outfitted with a range of navigational utilities, including radio, Fishfinder and a Garmin 451S GPS plotter-sounder combo. It also sports a full cover from the shade as well as a toilet on board, allowing John to cover the Trinity inlet in both speed and comfort.
Trinity Inlet is known by being well protected due to an expansive mangrove system making sure that you have a peaceful day of fishing, even if the wind does decide to show up. Each fishing tour with Capt. Hangodi starts at the Marlin Marina, catching live bait for the day by throwing cast nets. Specific bait varies depending on a range of factors, although John finds herrings, prawns and mullet to be the most effective and typically the easiest to catch.
After securing the bait, it’s time to move up the Trinity Inlet, where depending on the season you’ll be going up against the likes of the famous Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Queenfish, Trevally, Salmon, Fingermark and a variety of other species. The day is typically split in two, with an early morning charter aimed at the early risers, and an afternoon trip for those that like to sleep in.
All trips with Paradise Adventures include quality fishing gear (Shimano Raider 6ft Barra Flicksticks and Eggbeater Spinning Reels), live bait as well as soft drinks. The boat also features a cooler on board, so loading it with a few cold beers won’t be a problem. If you caught anything you’d like to keep for dinner, Captain John will be happy to help you clean and fillet your catch following the trip.

Had a great day with John, very entertaining and informative. Unfortunately the fish went off the bite so nothing to show off to the wife. Overall was a good day ,saw some wildlife and a good fish caught by someone else. That’s fishing.

Unfortunately the weather made life very difficult with heavy rain and howling wind.
John did everything he could to get us onto some fish in the worst conditions imaginable.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone, John worked hard to give his clients their money’s worth.
