Captain Joe's 23' Ranger bay boat is a purpose-built shallow-water explorer, designed to make her way deftly through the murky sandbanks and backwaters which Tampa Bay is best known for.

Half Day Trip (PM) on August 16, 2026 • 5 adultsCaptain Joe did a fantastic job from the very start! We were underway on time and quickly made our way to the first spot. Mangrove Snappers were hungry and Joe had bait on the line and fish off the hook in rapid succession! After about an hour we pulled anchor and made our way toward the middle of the bay. There we reeled in a few Red Snapper and wrestled with a more agressive fish. The Spanish Makeral were hitting lines like crazy! After we caught our fill we headed back to the dock where Captain Joe fileted all our fish and bagged them for us. The Makeral were great lightly breaded with some lemon butter sauce. We highly recommend having Captain Joe take you on your next Tampa Bay fishing trip!

Beginner on April 16, 2025 • 5 adultsMy kids and I are visiting Tampa for spring break and my son Joey loves fishing… we found Slobby Joe Charters and let’s just say it was a blessing from the skies. Joe our captain was not only punctual and accommodating but he was phenomenal with the four kids (Ages 6-12). This mama actually rested on this trip and was able to enjoy my kids catch their fish in open water and see their faces light up as they reeled their fish in. Joe truly made this trip a one of a kind experience and if and when we return to Tampa he will be the only person I call for another tour.

Full Day Trip on January 12, 2025 • 6 adultsCapt Joe was accommodating and prepared for everything. Even went to multiple bait shops during a shortage to make sure we had enough bait for our group of 6. Joe was flexible, charismatic, and knew right where the fish were biting, despite the rapid cold weather changes and our off season booking date. Didn't waste any time on dead spots and was constantly attentive to each person in our group at their level of need. Absolute pro. We had a 50+ fish day on a 7 hour charter. Worth every penny and then some. Best charter I've been on.

Full Day Trip on April 11, 2025 • 5 adults • 2 childrenWe had such a great time on the water with Joe! Beautiful day, wonderful little tour of Tampa Bay, and each of our 3 teen/pre-teen boys caught 5-6 fish! (And one shark!) We loved his knowledge and tips, but most of all the relaxing time on the water in the sunshine with a Captain that’s not rushed or overbearing!

We had an amazing family fishing trip! Our captain had a fantastic sense of humor and made the whole experience fun from start to finish. He knew exactly where to take us, and we hit our limits on trout! We even reeled in a red and a jack. Friendly, knowledgeable, and a great attitude—couldn't have asked for a better day on the water!

Joe was awesome. He worked his butt off to get fish in the boat during the dog days of summer. We caught several speckled trout and a small shark. Joe met every need of our family and really meshed well, he even talked a little crap which we all enjoyed. 5 stars
I can not thank Capt Joe enough. We had a wonderful time. He made my family feel right at home and he put us on fish. I highly recommend this trip to anyone.
