Shallow Minded Charters – Backwater
Book your next trip with Shallow Minded Charters and find out what you're missing in Morehead City. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Michael knows them forwards and back.
Redfish, and more could be biting if you come at the right time of year.
Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Michael also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Capt. Michael believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Caught some solid trout on topwater... captain knows the area over 20 years in the area born as raised

The fishing was a bit slow overall. We had a few blow-ups but not much to show for it. However we stuck with long enough for me to run into a 48 inch drum. An awesome top water catch.
Morehead City, North Carolina, United States
Captain Michael has been on the water ever since he was a little boy. Fishing with his family has always been something to look forward to, and he made sure he took every chance he had to get on a boat. Over the years, he realized his true calling was to be a captain, so he started his own business in order to share that love and passion with like minded anglers. Michael loves topwater fishing for Trout.
