Cana Brava Expeditions offers Tarpon multi day fishing trips around the inshore waters of Panama City, Panama. If you're looking for an exciting chase after sizable Tarpon, with experienced guides, accommodation in local hotels, and a tour guide to show you around, come along.
Captain Andres and his friend Captain Carlos are the owners and guides of the Cana Brava Expeditions. They own 2 identical 18' boats, and can altogether take up to 4 anglers. These Nitro bass boats are powered by a 115 HP Mercury engine, and each can reach speeds of up to 50 knots. They are rigged with a fishfinder, have a wireless trolling motor, and store an icebox.
These packages offer several full day fishing trips. You arrive at the airport, and the crew will wait for you there, to pick you up and take you to a hotel where you will be staying, and this accommodation is part of your package. Once there, Captain Andres will meet you to discuss your itinerary for the following days.
The fishing days are counted as of the next day. Over the course of the next three or four days, depending on your package, you will rise up early, sip a coffee, and take a ride to the fishing grounds. The crew will provide rods, reels, and tackle, lures, fishing licenses, snacks, lunch, and drinks. You will try to reel in the Silver King, using the fly fishing equipment supplied.
All Tarpons are released, and catching them is real fun. You will need to present the lure carefully in order to outsmart them. Once they bite, you will need to hold the rod tight, and try to reel them in, and that's the fun part. Your guides will remind you to stay hydrated, and you will have a break to regain stamina before casting the lure again.
After all fishing days are gone, the next day you will get a ride back to the airport. If you want, you can also go around the city for some sightseeing, or shopping for gifts.
