Reel Time Charters offers nearshore and offshore fishing trips out of Sausalito, CA. Join an experienced captain who is ready to put his talent to work for you, fishing for some of the most popular species in the San Francisco Bay Area!
Step aboard a 28’ Boston Whaler Conquest, ideal for up to 4 anglers. Powered by twin 250 HP Mercury Verado engines, this vessel has a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots. She will get you to the fishing grounds and back in comfort as fast as conditions on the water allow.
On board you will find the latest fishing technology. Many onboard amenities cater to your comfort, including a toilet, air conditioning, and a multimedia system.
Meet Captain Phil Havlicek, a local guide with extensive experience in fishing and surfing. He will help you target the fish this area is famous for, including Salmon, Albacore Tuna, Rockfish, and more.
You’ll employ a variety of techniques, such as drifting for Halibut, trolling for Salmon.. In November you may be able to fish for crab during a 2 week period when the season is open.
No matter what fishing experience you’re hoping to have, you can trust that Capt. Phil will help you get the most out of it. He will customize your trip in any way you want, so long as the weather makes it possible. Come aboard for a few hours to test the waters or head out to the Farallon Islands where you will find especially large Rockfish.
Reel Time Charters rents top of the line rods and reels for just $15 per rod. Trolling weights are not provided and are strongly recommended to be brought along by customers. If not, the captain can provide weights at $8 per 2.5lb and $7 per 2lb.
There may be a fuel surcharge depending on the type of trip requested. You are welcome to keep the fish that you catch. Be sure to bring a California fishing license.

5-Star Fishing Experience with Captain Phil!
We recently had the pleasure of going on a fishing trip with Captain Phil out of Sausalito, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, Captain Phil demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and hospitality. *Pre-Trip Communication:* Captain Phil called the day before to confirm all details, ensuring a seamless experience. *Dock and Location:* The dock in Sausalito was easily accessible, with ample parking in a beautiful area. *The Boat:* Captain Phil's vessel was impressive - well-maintained, clean, and mechanically sound. *Fishing Expertise:* Captain Phil's knowledge of fishing spots, tides, currents, and wind conditions was impressive. He expertly guided us to the fish, resulting in an impressive 10 catches (2 Bat Rays, 5 Striper Bass, 2 Halibut, and 1 Shovenose Guitar Fish) during our 8-hour trip. *Customer Service:* Captain Phil was incredibly patient and enthusiastic about teaching my two children (ages 11 and 9) fishing techniques. He made the day enjoyable for all of us, and his ability to identify fish species based on bite patterns was remarkable. *Overall Experience:* Captain Phil has set the bar extremely high for future fishing charters. Captain Phil Scores 5 Stars!!!
Last week I had the pleasure of fishing with three of my friends on Captain Phil’s charter boat “Reel Time”. It was AWESOME!!! We arrived at the Marina around 6:00AM. Phil was already there to welcome us and show us around his beautiful thirty-foot Boston Whaler. The boat was spotless and well equipped for comfort as well as CATCHING FISH. We left the harbor in Sausalito and headed east towards the Bay Bridge. Phil coached us in how to handle the rods and reels but most importantly, how to entice a fish into the boat. It was fun, but Captain Phil was confident bigger fish were waiting for us outside the Golden Gate Bridge. Our new fishing spot took us north past Bolinas Bay and eventually to Point Reyes. It was a great ride along the wilderness shoreline. Captain Phil calls it an “Ecosystem Tour” that you will never forget. We all loved it. And the best thing is we caught 20 fish when we got there! Most of the fish were Rockfish and Lingcod. It was exciting to watch everyone landing strong fish that give you a good fight. And good eating! If you are looking for a charter boat in San Francsico Bay, call Phil. He is a top-notch, professional Charter Captain and a fun guy who sincerely wants his customers to have a great fishing adventure. I'm already planning my next charter with Captain Phil!

Beautiful Half-Day with Captain Phil
We had the best day fishing with Phil! He was a very quick to stay in communication with us prior to our trip and provided information on licenses, parking, what to. wear/bring, etc. His boat was very clean and comfortable, and he clearly knows the bay very well. It was the end of the season, but we still caught 3 gorgeous halibut to keep as well as a giant ray and a little shark which were fun to catch. Phil. is such a speedy and attentive captain, and he was constantly baiting and tending to our lines and moving the boat to great fishing spots. He is a good coach too, teaching technique while educating on how different fish approach bait, seasonal patterns, and everything else. We had a blast catching our fish, but even if we had had a dry spell, we would have felt fortunate to fish outside of Alcatraz or viewing the Golden Gate Bridge and seeing all the seals and birds and other boats and tankers. We will definitely hit Phil up for another season!
