Steve Huber's Guide Service operates the lower 12 miles of the River. Your trip will begin in Golden Beach, Oregon. Before you make your first cast, Steve will guide you through the basics to help you use the tackle. Then, you will begin your adventure to follow Salmon from the Ocean to the upstream holding waters.
If you want to catch some of the best tasting Salmon, Spring Chinook is your target of choice. The season begins in March and goes through early June, arching its peak in April and May. You will anchor in soft streams and fish with spinners and anchovies. Those anglers who want to check the autumn bite will get a chance to fish the species permitted area.
The Coho Salmon season begins in Mid-September and goes until the end of October. Silvers are full of the fight right out of the ocean. If you're up to a challenge, don't hesitate! You will enjoy trolling anchovies or small plugs for Coho.
You will be fishing from the comfort of Steve's 25' Willie jet boat. Its 225 HP Yamaha outboard engine and a small additional motor will power you to the fishing grounds. Fully loaded with a heater and a covered top, the boat can comfortably accommodate a group of up to six anglers.
Golden beach is Gold Beach spelling Starting in mid-July, we will be fishing the estuary of Gold Beach and Brookings. If you are looking for salmon, this is the place. Last year we saw some of the biggest salmon in years. We expect another fantastic season.

Thank you. We will see you in October.
This was the most fun and successful catching trip we have ever experienced. Captain Steve was excellent in all ways. He showed us how & where to fish while explaining the ins and outs of the tides and the impact on fishing. He was very helpful and personal before, throughout, and after the trip. Most important is we caught our limit of fish! We certainly will book trips with him again!

Me and my wife decided to give salmon guide fishing a try. We are first timers. Capt Steve was very friendly and skilled in working with us and his fishing gear. The experience was well worth the price. I would recommend him to everyone who wants to fish and have an awesome time doing it.

We were tight on time due to an afternoon flight out of Eureka. Steve met us at 6:30 am. We were one of the first boats out there. Steve did everything and we quickly caught two beautiful king Salmon. Great morning on the water.
