The boat is ideal for up to 3 anglers, cruising at speeds of over 25 knots to get you to the prime fishing grounds quickly. With an autopilot, 12kW open array radar, and a 1kW sounder, you can rest assured that the latest technology will help you find the fish with ease.

Andres and Arixa went out of their way to make us feel at home on the boat and I’ve already recommended them to a friend traveling to the area soon. If you’re a couple or small group in the Los Suenos/Jaco area, this is a must book!

Full Day Trip on January 21, 2024 • 2 adultsThe Mad Marlin is a smaller older boat great for two or maybe 3 people. If you need comfort you may be disappointed but if you want to catch fish and avoid premium prices Andres and his first mate Alexis will find the fish. I recommend a full day as traveling to the fish takes a while. But when we got there we caught fish right away. Mahi grouper and sailfish seem to be the common fair with outside chance at the coveted marlin. Andres and Alexis both speak pretty good English and are very personable. Yes Alexis is a girl but make no mistake she knows exactly what she is doing rigging and baiting. She will work her tail off to hook fish for you.

Full Day Trip on April 16, 2023 • 3 adultsCaptain Andrea and first mate Cortez were absolutely dedicated to fishing. We chased a tough bite all day and saw a couple of sailfish and many bigeye tuna. The bite was just not happening (nature!). But we didn’t go home blank. They put in the extra work and time to put us on a healthy bite of beautiful snowy grouper and a couple of snapper. We had a great time, and you won’t find a captain and first mate that will work harder for you. They also fed us great breakfast & lunch and provided cold drinks of our choice. On the way back, Cortez cleaned our fish for us. It doesn’t get much better service. From my family to yours, muchas gracias y Pura Vida!

Full Day Trip on March 6, 2023 • 1 adultWas trying to target sail fish. We trolled for a few hours in multiple locations without a bite. They tried multiple rigs and lures buy had no luck. The captain did give me a heads up when we started the day that the sail fish bite hadn't been good lately. While monitoring the radio all day the captain heard of a good tuna bite happening and asked if I'd like to head to the spot, trolling or pull in and go right there. I said pull it in and get there fast not wanting to miss it. We arrived and started casting and trolling for tuna. Got 2 tuna and then at the end of the day a really nice Mahi. Overall extremely satisfied with he trip and crew.

Extreme offshore Trip on January 8, 2024 • 3 adultsFirst couple of hours quiet. Then starting getting big dolphin (Maui Maui). Captain found birds working areas and got more dolphin. Last one was a big bull. Tried hard for billfish but no hits. Still a great little boat to fish from but back cockpit area a bit tight. Recommend 2-3 people max. Mate was excellent. Really worked the lines to entice fish.

Full Day Trip on December 27, 2023 • 3 adultsFirst of all safty is always first and I aways felt like we were in safe hands with our captain and crew.. The boat is on the smaller side but was well maintained and the 3 of us felt comfortable and secure on the full day excursion. He was very knowledgeable and english is pretty good and he has a great temperamentand sense of humor. We caught 6 Maui Maui and 1 sailfish. His first mate did a great job of Fillet it and sending back. She was very efficient at getting the rigs reset after bringing in the fish.

Full Day Trip on November 13, 2023 • 3 adults • 1 childIf you are looking for a pleasure boat … this is not your trip. If you are looking to catch fish … sign up NOW. Great experience for my 13 year old Grandson’s birthday and a bucket list item for my wife. Captain Andres is a great driver and knows the waters AND he has the most amazing First Mate …. Just watching Arixa work was worth the trip. She tried so hard to help us catch fish (and we did) … she is incredible. Again … book it now … you won’t regret. The only thing I can’t guarantee is if the fish are bitting (as you anglers know) … BUT if they are … you will catch something. Andres & Arixa … thanks for the memories. And Arixa … can’t wait to come back in a few years and see you Captaining your OWN boat. Mike, Kari, & Micah

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 30 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
