Your captain and the deckhand will assist you throughout the adventure. You will be able to try your hand at trolling for Coho Salmon, Lake Trout, Brown Trout, and Steelhead – all depending on the season.
During the spring months and until mid-summer, you can come back to shore with excellent mixed bag catches. Late summer and fall will see you concentrating on Brown Trout, Chinook Salmon, and Steelhead.
All that magic will happen aboard a 38' Bertram boat. Its twin 330 HP Mercruiser will power you and 5 fishing buddies to the hottest grounds on the lake, while a full range of electronics will build up a clear image of where the fish are hiding. This spacious boat also features a toilet, which is a much-needed thing when spending your day on the water.
All trips include the use of gear, tackle, and bait. All the necessary fishing licenses can be purchased on board.

This was a family guys day out (ages 7 - 65) and they were helpful and made sure everyone was confident in what to do as we are not very experienced fishers. We caught a lot of fish including Steelhead, King Salmon and even a 16 lbs Lake Trout! The boat was clean, has a toilet and mini fridge, and ran smoothly. Awesome time and we will be going with this group again on our next trip!

For being late to the season we were still able to find some fish and limit out, which was super exciting! Make sure you figure out beforehand where to find a boat and put some effort into talking to the crew - they were not very talkative on their own. Also - it seems that 5am trips are better than 10am trips - as fish baited better before sun is up.

Brock and his counterpart were very nice and did what they could to help us have a good time. However, if you are planning to book with them check the maritime weather report. We’ve had experiences with captains before who call and let us know the weather conditions weren’t favorable, so when we didn’t get any info from them, we thought it would be a nice day on the water. 3 of us got super sea sick because the swells were like 9 feet high. While they don’t control the weather, I would have appreciated a heads up that it would be unpleasant, and maybe the opportunity to reschedule. Otherwise it would have been a nice trip with a nice captain.

The company was founded in Algoma back in 1969 by the late Howard Kinn and has evolved into Wisconsin's premier charter fishing destination. A team of experienced and professional anglers, Kinn's Sport Fishing is owned and operated by Captain Troy Mattson and Bret Cook. A North Dakota native and a 'flatlander,' Troy has always loved the outdoors. He is obsessed with Salmon fishing industry and has spent almost two decades mastering the Great Lakes. Troy is a proud husband and father of two little girls. Captain Bret Cook began exploring the Great Lakes in the mid-1990's. He partnered with the legendary Howard Kinn in 2000 and has never looked back.
