Zanzibar Big Game Fishing - Baloo
Zanzibar Big Game Fishing is a fleet of boats that take anglers from all over the world to the hottest grounds. The company is located at the northern tip of the archipelago. Such a convenient location allows you to enjoy the best deep sea fishing in Africa!
The crew will welcome you aboard the 'Baloo', a true pride of the fleet. She is a 36' Walter Brun flybridge boat, built in 1985. The beauty comes powered by twin 360 HP Volvo Penta engines and can comfortably accommodate up to eight anglers.
The Baloo has all the comforts of home. As you walk down from the helm to the galley, you will find a bedroom and a bathroom. The Baloo is fully rigged with seven Penn International rods and reels to make great catches possible. She also features a comfortable seating down below the spacious cabin. It's right there where you can hide from the sun!
There are so many potential catches in the water, that it's simply hard to think of a single reason to come back to shore. The waters teem with large schools of Giant Trevally, Kingfish, Wahoo, and Barracuda. These monsters are available year-round. Marlin and Tuna are seasonal visitors. Plus, there are Sailfish and Mahi Mahi ready to bite!
Zanzibar Big Game Fishing and its crew will offer you assistance during the trip. All packages include gear, tackle, and bait. Catching, cleaning, and preparing of the fish can be done on the huge deck.

The organising was professional and efficient. Peter the captain was experienced and Isaac his second in command was great. We only caught one barracuda but the trip was enjoyable. The boat was clean and one of the better boats in Zanzibar. We had enough food and drinks and space on the boat. Remember to ask about what you want to do with the fish if you are planning to keep some of the catches.
Thank you for your lovely review! We are very happy to hear that you had a successful and enjoyable day out! If you have any trophy shots we would love to see them! Happy holidays.
Beautiful day out. Very spacious boat and well eqipped for the trip. Quiet from a fishing prospective (caught one Wahoo) but the team worked hard to ensure we had every opportunity to catch more. Really enjoyed our half day on the boat and would recommend it.
Hello Paul, thank you for the kind review, we are so glad you had a great day out and able to get in a Wahoo!
A very windy day with rough seas. The conditions didn't allow for proper fishing. It would have been more appropriate to advise us to postpone the trip until the afternoon or the following day. Furthermore, the captain and crew boarded the boat when we did, so the boat was still unprepared. We left the dock at 7:00 instead of 6:30 and returned at 11:20, so the planned 5 hours didn't pass. Furthermore, on our return, no one came to pick us up with the tender, and the crew had to swim to get the tender to land, and we waited half an hour to get off. Another boat from the same organization that went out with us also didn't catch a single fish. $850 and half a day of vacation wasted.
Our fishing was excellent despite having a feeling of trepidation having never used fishing booker before. The communication from Zanzibar Water Sports was excellent and when we arrived for the day Claire (?) on the reception was very welcoming. After taking final payment she took us over and introduced us to the deck hand. After arriving on the boat we were reassured by the professionalism and after a thorough safety talk, the captain and deckhand set to work. Before you know it we had the outriggers down and six rods were set up with different configurations. Unfortunately for us we didn't have any joy of catching a fish despite chasing some bird activity and seeing a few tuna out of the water. The captain tried every trick in the book but for us on the day it was no go. The seas were fairly lumpy as well and we were soak by a passing rain storm. Despite our lack of fish, we would use Zanzibar big game fishing again and would recommend then to others. Thank you.
Thank you for the review Carl, greatly apreciated and thank you for the constructive feedback in regards to the pasta. We will look into this and see how we can chnage it up a little or change the dish that that pasta is sitting in so that it does not get affected by the elements
