The Great Escape welcomes you to the stunning waters of Destin.

The fish in these waters include King Mackerel, Permit, Red Snapper, Wahoo, Gag Grouper, Mako Shark, Blackfin Tuna, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Scamp Grouper, and more if conditions allow.
On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

The Great Escape is a child-friendly charter service, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!

Your excursion begins aboard a 58ft Chris-Craft Convertible with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.

You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

You can’t go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with The Great Escape.

Switching to bottom fishing techniques allows guests to catch fish almost instantly, with high keeper rates even on short trips.
Some trips may involve mechanical delays or strong diesel odors, and fishing methods can favor smaller catches over trophy fish.

Great 6hr trip for our family of 6, boat was clean and well equipped, plenty of room inside the cabin with cold AC if you wanted to cool off. The captain and deckhand worked hard to put and keep us on fish, we caught our limit of vermilion snapper, a few red snapper, few kings, few Bonita, amberjack and more. They trolled going out we caught a few kings trolling, bottom fishing was great, trolled in and caught a few more kings and Bonita trolling in. Great trip for our family.

We had five people in our group and three had never been deep sea fishing before. Jason was a great choice. He and his son JC worked hard to teach them the proper techniques to have a successful day. JC was especially on top of the reels and was an amazing first mate. I can't recommend them enough. They put us on the fish immediately after getting out.

They gave us a couple options for the day and they put us on top of a ton of fish. Arm was hurting from all the reeling in. Took my 6 and 7 year old out and even they were able to reel in some fish. Was a great trip! Definitely recommend and we’ll go out again next time we’re in Destin.

We did a short 4 hour trip since we had two new to deep sea fishing and two with serious motion sickness. The 1st mate kept us baited and lines in the water caught 36 keepers. We were even thinking about going again but couldn’t squeeze it in on this trip but for sure the next. Thank you Jason and Jasey for the great memories.
