Goin 4 Smallies Guide Service invites you down to Pennsylvania to fish the beautiful Susquehanna River. Even though the smooth waters of the river are home to a large variety of fish species, Smallmouth Bass deserve a special attention.
You will be targeting the fish that might have made the region famous. Capt. David, the owner and operator of Goin 4 Smallies has been fishing for Bass since he was a kid. He knows where Smallmouth hide and how to find them. With Capt. David, you won't have to worry about anything at all!
You will go out aboard a 17' Fish Rite jet boat, custom built in 2007 with comfort and style in mind. The boat has a 95 HP Mercury engine, plenty of fishing and seating space for up to 3 anglers, and modern technologies to save your time while searching for fish. Welcome aboard!
The trips come inclusive with the use of quality gear and tackle by the leading brands, such as Less and St. Croix. You will be using light 'finesse' spinning gear to target Smallies. Just don't forget to bring something to eat and drink, along with a valid fishing license which you should purchase before the trip.
Please note, that all Smallmouth Bass you catch will be released. You will have just enough time to take a picture with the catch.
Bring your kids, friends, and fishing buddies. Introduce your kid to the fine art of sport fishing. Tight lines and fish on!

while the water level was extremely low - we were able to catch about 15 smallmouth. Our guide was very knowledgeable and familiar with our fishing location. i would recommend him for other anglers. Capt David was very good at communication prior to trip.
A great day of fishing on a great fishery, with a knowledgeable and friendly captain, who put us on a boatload of fish, including sizable smallies and a musky. Will definitely fish with Captain Dave again in the future.

Great experience with Dave of Goin for Smallies guide service. Fish were being finicky but Dave put in his full effort to put us on fish and it paid off. My son and I had a blast. Would recommend Dave to everyone

Lost track of number of fish caught within first hour. Any trip like that is a “keeper.” (As a kid had deep sea trips where we caught nothing). Capt. Dave shows you why Susquehanna is World Class Smallmouth fishing. We fished same waters that hosted Hobie Kayak Fishing Pro Tour this summer. And, as productively as if you watched Jeff Little’s You Tube channel “The Little Stuff” — and had “gotten the pattern down for the bite,” as he calls it. Capt. David has a huge arsenal of tackle. But you really only need one or two lures—the ones they’re biting on that day. And just a few places (where they’re feeding) on the day you’re out and in those water and weather conditions. Affirmed what I learned (that should/would work now) from “the Little stuff.” Coincidence? No—experience. But what Jeff recommended “now” (Fall Pattern vid) where he illustrated the learning process, David knew. Meaning he obviously “knew” (or thought he knew) the pattern that would work. Handed me a rod with a tied on lure. I fished it (using dead stick technique I learned from “the little stuff.”). Bam, Bam,bam. More fish in first hour (lost count) than I got in any trip all summer. Which “proved” validity of what was being taught in Little Stuff, i.e Figure out these moody fishes’ patterns. Pro Tip: Or someone who knows it and can get you there. Another Pro Tip: Now (beginning of October til it’s too cold) — is Susquehanna Smallie feeding frenzy of fattening up for winter. (
Great trip, put us on the fish. Easy going, patient Capt. fun to fish with.

Even though Captain David Bruchey has been guiding professionally for just over a decade, Bass fishing has always been his passion. David began chasing Smallmouth when he was a young child and has been doing it ever since. Fishing has always been a part of his life. Capt. David enjoys sharing it with others, be it a friend or a client.
