Rainmaker Fishing Charters
Rainmaker Fishing Charters offers a range of awesome fishing trips around the Hilton Head area and beyond. Battle Bull Reds and Silver Kings in the shallows, drop lines for huge Grouper and Snapper offshore, or take on the world's top predators in specialty Shark trips. There's something for everyone!
Captain Tim's 31' Cape Horn is as at home in the inshore waters of Port Royal Sound as she is in the bluewaters, and is loaded with enough tech and equipment to dominate them both.
What makes Rainmaker Fishing Charters unique is the sheer amount of trip options you have to choose from. If being in the open ocean deep sea fishing does not interest you, Rainmaker Charters offers shorter inshore trips where we stay in the protected waters of Port Royal Sound. The bite changes throughout the year with different water temperatures and fish migrations so there are a lot of potential target species to get after. If you are not a hardcore angler, Captain Tim also offers more laid back trips where we can target more general species but also take in the sights of the beautiful lowcountry and its wildlife.
All trips come with tackle, bait, lures, and licenses - everything you need for the fishing itself. Captain Tim loves working with anglers of any age, and is always happy to teach beginners the tricks of the trade. If bringing small children, parents should consider bringing a life vest you know they will wear and fits properly.
At the end of your trip, all your catch will be cleaned and filleted, ready to cook up as the perfect end to a great day fishing. Dockside Restaurant also offers to cook your catch and does a great job. You can walk right off the dock and have a seat with a cold cocktail and fresh catch. Rainmaker Charters is in the best location on the island for enjoying a quality fishing excursion. No meeting at boat landings or losing trip time to long no wake zones. Rainmaker Charters is part of the North End Charter Fleet, Hilton Heads Premiere Charter dock.

Captain Tim was very welcoming, and his communication leading up to the trip was excellent. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and a perfect size for four people plus the captain. We had six people plus the captain, which made things a little tight, and we were limited to four lines in the water at a time to avoid tangles. The fishing started strong, with a variety of different catches during the first hour. Once the tide started coming in, we moved to a second spot to see what we could find. Unfortunately, the second location didn’t produce as well. There were plenty of baitfish schooling around, but we just couldn’t get the target fish to bite. We finished the day with some slow trolling and managed to catch another three or four fish. Overall, it was a great trip, and Captain Tim was professional, friendly, and easy to work with.

thanks!

We had an amazing time on our 3-hour shark fishing trip! It was an unforgettable experience and worth every penny. Captain Tim was fantastic with the boys. He kept them engaged the entire trip and made sure they were constantly reeling in sharks and other fish. You can tell he genuinely cares about giving his guests the best experience possible—he worked incredibly hard to make sure each of them caught something. Not only is Captain Tim a great guide, but he’s also extremely knowledgeable and happy to share his expertise throughout the trip. His passion for fishing really shows, and it made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for an exciting fishing charter with an experienced captain who goes above and beyond, look no further. We will definitely be booking with Captain Tim again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for an incredible day on the water!

thank you so much for that thoughtful review cant wait to get yall out again!

It was a perfect introduction to inshore fishing. Tim was knowledgeable and friendly and patient with our kids. We stayed nearshore as some of the family gets very seasick and we still had an amazing experience catching several fish and sharks. We would absolutely go out again with Tim if we ever were back in SC.

thanks for coming out!
We had less than ideal conditions with strong wind, rough water and moving tide. Tim told us almost the only thing biting that day were sharks (which most of us were ok with), but Tim still worked hard to keep the bait and location fresh and set up multiple rods to cover all possibilities. We ended up catching about 12 fun small sharks and one large black tip.

I had a blast fishing with you guys. You have a fun crew.
Tim had us on the fish all day. We started looking for tarpon and were able to land a great big silver with lots of shark action in between. Then headed off to catch some lunch and finally boated a big keeper cobia. Great time. Tim worked hard to keep bait in the water all of the time and filleted up the fish at the end. Awesome.

great trip thanks for coming out!
The Angler's Choice Award is given to listings that consistently deliver a high-quality service and earn great reviews from customers.
I grew up always curious about the ocean and what lies beneath the waves. That led me to take up fishing the waters off Hilton Head when I was young. I went on to study marine biology in college and moved to the Florida Keys working as a nature guide on the coral reefs surrounding Big Pine Key. It was an awesome experience and I got to do plenty of fishing down there but I decided to move back to Hilton head and focus on my local waters. I started fishing on The Straycat with capt. Jim Clark. I worked for him and most of the other captains on The North End Charter Fleet Dock at some point or another. For me fishing is an adventure and it is my passion to do what I can to give people that thrill.
