    Fantastic time out

Justin was very knowledgeable of the lake and the surrounding area. Even though we had a lot of fog, our day on the water was so cool, tranquil, and special. We’d book this trip again in a heartbeat.

    Good times and good fishing!

Justin was an awesome guide. He was patient with my son and has a good sense of humor too boot! He knows the spots to fish and teaches you different methods to fish different varieties of fish. We were able to catch a nice sized salmon and some small mouth!

    (4 Hour Trip – Float)

fun and relaxing at the same time.

Cruz was awesome! We had so much fun and it was so beautiful. We caught somewhere between 30 and 40 trout, but only kept our limit. I would definitely recommend Cruz to anyone.

(Half Day Float Trip – Toccoa River)

    Great father and son trip!

Joe has a great ability to teach others how to trout fish. He’s very knowledgeable. He knew just the right places to go so that we would catch our fish. He taught my son how to clean the fish.

Brook Trout fishing is all about wild colors, quick strikes, and clear water. This native Trout is a favorite with anglers who love small streams and quiet lakes. It fights hard for its size and rewards a careful approach. Many people target it for classic, simple fun in beautiful places.

You can catch Brook Trout with fly fishing or light spinning tackle. Small spinners and spoons work well in moving water. Natural baits like worms or salmon eggs also produce bites. Use light line, usually 4–6 lb test, and small hooks. Keep a low profile and let your lure or fly drift with the current. In lakes, cast near inlets, rocky shorelines, or weed edges.

Expect a peaceful, hands-on experience. You may wade cool creeks, hike to a pond, or cast from shore. The water is often clear, so stealth matters. Polarized sunglasses help you see fish and structure. Wear layers and bring waders or waterproof boots if you plan to wade. A rubber-mesh landing net and barbless hooks make catch and release easier. Brook Trout fishing suits beginners, families, and anyone who enjoys light tackle and scenic settings.

Always check the local rules before you go. Make sure you have the right fishing license or permit. Review current seasons, tackle restrictions, and harvest limits for the area you plan to fish. Regulations can change, and waters may have special rules to protect Brook Trout.
