Perhaps less populated by visiting anglers compared to its sister fisheries of Placencia and Ambergris Caye, Belize City is just a short boat ride away from the same notoriously prolific flats and the majestic Barrier Reef. Snook and monster Tarpon dominate the nearby flats and lagoons, with the sizable Bonefish and Permit population securing Belizean reputation as one of the greatest fly fishing hotspots of the 21st century. For those of you in search of a great family outing, the Reef is both a vibrant marine ecosystem fully worthy of exploring, as well as a great spot to target a variety of Snappers, Groupers, Jacks, Mackerel and more!
