Cudjoe Key has so much to offer that it's a surprise to see it overlooked by tourists in favor of some of its neighbors. Cudjoe Key fishing charters will give you the full Florida Keys experience with all the action and variety you could wish for. The only thing missing will be the crowds and bustle of its more famous cousins!
Head to the wrecks to go after Grouper, Cobia, Kingfish, and Barracuda, while the reefs hold Yellowtail, Mutton, and Mangrove Snapper. The flats offer you the challenge of quietly stalking elusive Bonefish and Permit, as well as the chance to battle the Silver King himself! Offshore targets hardly need an introduction. Tuna and Billfish in these waters are as good as they come.
Even a short afternoon on the water can go a long way at Cudjoe Key. Half day reef excursions can land you plenty of excellent tasting fish in a hurry, especially if you're visiting during the summer months. If you’re visiting the flats, try to give yourself a couple of extra hours since the fish here demand patience. Offshore adventures vary greatly based on what the target is, but full day expeditions will produce the best results!
US Highway 1 splits the island into a northern and southern portion. Although much smaller, the south part of the island, around Cudjoe Bay is where the vast majority of development is. This makes it easy for visiting anglers to find charters and quickly find your captain for the day. From here, you’ll have easy access to any fishing spot you’d like.
Rules & Regulations
For all anglers fishing aboard a charter boat, licenses are covered by the captain. If you opt to blaze your own path and explore the local flats and inshore waters alone, be sure to get a Florida fishing license ahead of time.
