Come spring, you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to go after the mighty Silver King – Tarpon! If deeper waters call, the Atlantic Ocean and wicked Gulf Stream are just as easy to access. Your targets size up considerably and there’s plenty of opportunity to hook Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Snapper.
The variety of trips on offer in Jensen Beach can suit any schedule. The inshore waterways are easy to reach and you’ll have your lines wet in no time. Trips here are a great choice if you’ve only got a few hours to spare. You can even get some solid offshore action in on a half day trip, thanks to the nearby Gulf Stream. The action really gets going about 30 miles out, so if it’s big Sailfish you’re after, opt for a full day trip.
Most captains launch out of the Jensen Beach boat ramp, where they can easily access both the open ocean and inshore waters. You can also head out of Stuart, another fishing hotspot under 10 miles away!
Rules & Regulations
If you’re charter fishing, the captain’s license covers everyone on board. If you’re fishing from the beach or pier, you’ll need to buy a license online or from a local tackle shop. Some fish like Tarpon and Sailfish are strictly limited to catch and release and it’s worth checking size and bag limits before heading out.
