Fishing in Texas City

If you're looking for an authentic Lone Star State angling experience, fishing in Texas City should be on top of your to-do list. With access to three bays, this deepwater port is the perfect destination for some fun-filled time on the water. To the locals, angling in these parts is more than a sport. For anglers experiencing a Texas City fishing charter for the first time, fishing is about to take on a whole new meaning.

The games start with Redfish and Speckled Trout. Add to that Black Drum and Sheepshead, and guess what – you've just scratched the surface. If you're after Flounder, these tasty Flatfish are on the bite from April through June, and again from October through December.

Whichever fish you're after, you'll have plenty of expert fishing guides to choose from around here. Trips typically range from 4–8 hours. If you're a newbie, half day outings will provide you with plenty of action, without you spending the whole day on the water. For experienced anglers however, longer hour trips are ideal.

From the Texas City Dike, to Moses Lake and Swan Lake, superb angling spots are right at your doorstep. Further out in Galveston Bay, fishing is even better. These waters serve up a steady dose of species, making inshore fishing in Texas City a year-round affair. If you want a taste of the legendary Texan offshore fishing, head over to Galveston and hop on a monster hunt.

Rules & Regulations

Anglers age 17 and older need a TX fishing license, even when fishing aboard a licensed charter vessel. If you're fishing on your own, you do not need a license in order to cast your line in one of Texas' state parks.
