Discover the riches of the Great Lakes without having to venture far offshore by fishing in Georgian Bay. This northwestern corner of Lake Huron boasts shallow and deep waters, as well as creeks, rivers, and plenty more that keep attracting monster fish.
There are few places quite as diverse as Georgian Bay in North America, with plenty of prized fish calling these waters home. There are plenty of “Bass holes” where Largemouth and Smallmouth like to hide, while Perch, Pike, CrappIe, and Lake Whitefish can all be found in abundance, too. Some of the true prizes of the lake, however, lie in the rare Brook, Brown, Lake, and Rainbow Trout, along with monster King Salmon, Walleye, and even Musky.
With so much on offer, there’s something for every angler, from beginner to pro. Hop aboard a trip as short as three hours to test the waters, while the keener angler will enjoy the chance to spend the full day on the water. If you’re tied up in the day, then a night trip will see you get to go fishing under the stars. And don’t let winter ruin it, either! Come ice fishing in the colder months and get your fish on like never before.
Whenever you come, you’re in for a treat when fishing in Georgian Bay. Take advantage of the spring and fall spawning seasons, target the widest range of fish in summer, or come in winter to land a warming meal. You really can’t go wrong.
Rules & Regulations
Every angler between the ages of 18 and 65 needs an Ontario fishing license to fish in Georgian Bay. You can purchase this, along with the required “Outdoors Card,” online, in person, or over the phone. Other than that, your professional charter operator will keep you on top of the latest fishing seasons and bag limits.
