The Corpus Christi Bay fishing scene is as diverse as can be! Boasting marshes, flats, jetties, channels, and access to the rich waters of the Gulf of Mexico, this lagoon has it all. Whether you’re fly fishing, bottom fishing, or heading out for some big game action, there’s no better place to start your angling adventure.
You’ll find something to whet your appetite year-round in these rich waters. Go after delicious inshore creatures like Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead, and Texas’ favorite fish – Speckled Trout. You can also test your skills and strength against Cobia, Amberjack, Tarpon, and even Mackerel. Meanwhile, big game enthusiasts can get their pulses racing with a trip to target Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Marlin, alongside the elusive Red Snapper – the list is endless!
Whether you’ve just got a few hours to spare, or fancy a real fishing holiday, a Corpus Christi fishing charter has something for you. Choose from half day trips to introduce the family to fishing, while the more keen angler will relish the chance to spend a full day casting. Inshore trips can last as long as ten hours, while offshore trips can see you spend up to 24 hours on the water.
Wherever you are around the bay, you’re not far from a thrilling adventure. You can hop aboard in Corpus Christi or its surrounding areas, Portland and Ingleside. Mustang or South Padre Island are popular departure points, too. Hit the Corpus Christi or any of its adjacent bays, along with the Gulf of Mexico, and get your fish on like never before!
Rules & Regulations
Before coming aboard, all anglers age 17 or older will need to purchase a TX saltwater fishing license. Get yours online or from any licensed retailer and away you go!
While Texas is pretty liberal with its bag limits, you’ll want to be aware of the Red Drum tag. Grab one alongside your fishing license to take home one “bull” Redfish (bigger than 28 inches), and you’re good to go. For all other regulations, your professional captain will keep you informed.
