Feather River Fishing Seasons
January offers solid Steelhead and Rainbow Trout runs. This is a great time for fly fishermen to hit the river and enjoy nymphing while the weather is cold outside.
Rainbow Trout and Steelhead are still taking the bait. You might also be able to find some Sturgeon on the lower part of the river, towards the Upper Sacramento River.
Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted Bass, as well as Brown Trout, start coming out of their winter hibernation. This is an excellent time to target Smallies around Verona.
Striper season is finally here! Now is a great time to try and target that monster Striper you’ve been wanting to catch.
As the fish start to settle into their spring patterns, you can expect to target a wider variety of species. Striped Bass, Catfish, Rainbow Trout, and Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass are just some of the species you can catch this month.
The fishing really starts to get hot on the Feather River in June. You can expect to target Smallies, Stripers, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Rainbow Trout, and Shad.
Salmon season is here! Pick a guide that will take you fishing for Chinook and catch yourself a delicious meal you can share later with the family.
Now is the best time to target Chinook Salmon on the Feather River. You can also expect to catch lots of Rainbow Trout, and Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.
September is a great month if you’re looking to catch a monster King Salmon. Pick a full day trip and see if you can catch a King in the 30+ lb range!
You can continue to fish for big Chinook throughout the rest of October. You can also target Rainbow Trout and Steelhead.
November will also provide great Salmon action, as well as Rainbow Trout, Catfish, and Smallmouth Bass.
