Often overlooked in favor of its larger neighbor, Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie is still one of the hottest freshwater fishing destinations in South Carolina. Home to state records and even a world-record Catfish, you’d be foolish to overlook the third largest lake in the state. Hop aboard a Lake Moultrie fishing charter and see why!
In this oasis of South Carolina, a range of fish dictate what kind of day you’ll have. Largemouth and Striped Bass fishing are as good as anywhere in the country, while Catfishing is among the best in the world. Round your trip off by filling a bucket with some larger-than-usual Crappie, and you’ll head home with more than you bargained for.
With such a range of fish on offer, there’s something for everyone aboard a Lake Moultrie fishing charter. Beginners can target the smaller Panfish, while avid anglers can get their fill of tough-fighting fish. Come aboard from four hours to eight hours, and get everything you’d like from your fishing adventure.
Most professional fishing guides operate out of three locations around this rich body of water. A trip from Pinopolis in the south will give you the chance to explore the breadth of the lake, while heading out from Cross or Russellville in the north may see you discover Lake Marion too. Whatever you want, Lake Marion’s got it, so come aboard and get your fish on!
Rules & Regulations
Before coming aboard your Lake Moultrie fishing adventure, you’ll need to get an SC fishing license. Choose from a 14-day, year-long, or three-year license, and you’ll have nothing to worry about. Your professional captain will let you know anything else of importance, just beware that keeping Striped Bass is forbidden in summer.
