Hawaii is a known deep sea sportfishing haven, but that’s not where the action ends. With reefs, flats, and freshwater fishing grounds on offer, you can cast off on the adventure of your dreams. 
 
Head out on a deep sea fishing excursion, and you’ll encounter year-round Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and Billfish. In some locations, the seafloor drops to a thousand feet just a mile from shore. To get the most out of your adventure, though, a full day trip is a must. More of a reef fishing enthusiast? Plumb underwater structure for local bottom fish including Long-Tail Red Snapper (Onaga) and Short-Tail Red Snapper (Ehu) on a shorter trip. 
 
If you want to spend even less time traveling, explore Hawaii's flats for Bonefish. A half day trip is the perfect introduction to these waters, and you can even try out fly fishing. There’s plenty of inshore action for freshwater fans, too. Largemouth Bass, Peacock Bass, and Channel Catfish can be found in a variety of reservoirs and waterways, with half and full day trips on offer.
 
There’s an impressive number of departure points dotted all over the Aloha State. Big Island’s Kailua-Kona offers incredible deep sea action, Maui is home to lots of reefs (and spearfishing action!), Kauai has a great Billfish bite as well as an abundance of freshwater fish...the opportunities are endless!

Fishing off the shore has been excellent this time of year. Lots of fish seem to be in-season so definitely try rocky/structural areas with steep drops. Haven’t had luck with jigs or lures but frozen squid is always a sure bet

We only caught one fish almost 3 and a half hours in, but I don't actually know the bite rate during different times of year. So don't exactly take my word for it

It’s fishing so don’t expect to just go out and catch something. It’s a lot of luck involved and keep in mind the guys are doing what they can to catch fish but if the fish aren’t biting then the fish aren’t biting. Don’t go out and expect to catch fish go out to have a good time and if you catch something it’s a bonus!

Do the 8 hour trip at least. It is a different type of fishing and you have to give the Captain a chance to put you on the fish.

Book the all-day trip, it’s your best chance to get on the fish. The boat can cover more water and go out farther. There’s a good amount of luck and chance involved but more time on the water is always a good bet!

Amazing Last-Minute Fishing Trip! We booked this trip at the last minute while visiting Hawaii, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. What an incredible experience! I had the chance to see amazing ocean life—pilot whales, dolphins, and tons of colorful fish. Captain Dan and Brent were incredibly knowledgeable and shared some fantastic stories throughout the trip. I even got to reel in an ono fish—such a thrilling moment watching it come in! I’ll definitely be back for more.

We had an incredible trip!! This was our first private charter and Capt. Gabe and Tino did a great job showing us what to do and explaining everything!! They got us on fish several times and we got a big Mahi on board and missed 1. A great time had by all!! i would fish with these guys again!!

Capt. Dave is a pro through and through. He is prepared and quick to adjust to the fish behavior. He wants you to catch the fish and be comfortable. He is clear and patient while walking you through the retrieve and will take this as seriousness you want. I would highly recommend.

Dave was absolutely amazing and extremely helpful and made our first time experience so fun and memorable! We caught a nice 15lb Ono and almost had a nice Marlin as well! Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to have a very easy going but absolutely fun time with a Captain that knows these waters and how to handle first timers!

It was my kids’ first fishing trip, and my father-in-law’s first in years. Captain Matt made us feel welcome and even though we didn’t catch much it was still a great morning! We don’t blame the crew for lack of catch, sometimes the ocean gives and sometimes it doesn’t. He even invited us to go out again for a HUGE discount because we didn’t catch much. We would 100% recommend Captain Matt and we would book again!
