Great catch Lake Erie Perch 9/16/21. Waves and wind seemed to unlock more bites!

As I said earlier, if you want to catch fish, Charles always knows where they are and how to catch them

See my review of Captain Paul Schill and Fishin' Mission charters. The residents of Lakeside Marblehead were very friendly and considerate.

If it’s going to be a windy day bring a jacket. It got cooler the further we went out.

Yes but pay attention to the upcoming weather and be flexible. Even though we were not able to it would have been easier on all of us., Mr. Hughes and Carol were great.

The weather is unpredictable. Our day of perch fishing was great. But we had a second trip for walleye booked that got canceled because of thunderstorms.

Pay a little money to get the experience you want. Cheaper definitely doesn’t mean better in this case.

Definitely book with Captain Steve Rumer. This will be fun, and exciting! He puts you on the fish.

Work with an experienced captain and call ahead to make sure the fish are running. Don't limit your time to fish to just one day; be flexible in case the weather changes suddenly.

Steve knows what he is doling. When the fishing slowed (never slowed down walleye fishing) he would move the boat. Not sure about others but Steve and first mate Leroy were good.

The area is ideal with easy access to lodging, restaurants and marinas. Close to ferry launches if you're looking to spend extra time in the area visiting the islands.

April and May may be the best for numbers of walleye, however, we caught 6 walleye & 1 perch on calm waters during 4:30 - 7:30 pm on July 28th while enjoying a beautiful evening.

Listen to instructions and participate as much as possible. If you prefer to sit and drift fish, then this is probably not the trip for you. If you want pounds of walleye to take home, then this is the trip for you.

Be prepared for a little rough waters, bring motion sickness meds if needed. Bring cooler of drinks, and food as most charters do not offer food as part of trip. Prepare to catch fish and be aware that if you want to have a service to clean fish, it will be an extra fee to trip. It will also be a 1-1.5 hour time frame after docking to pick up your fish.

They tell me right now (June 2018) is as hot for walleye as its ever been and I believe it. We limited out with 18 fish in about an hour and a half of fishing time with our charter. Most were the 17-19 range but one was over 7lbs (at least that is what the guy cleaning my fish - for $1 a walleye which I am loved - said, I didn't weigh it or measure it but it was big) Thinking about trying my luck with small-mouth in the area a little later in the season.
