What anglers say about Redfish fishing
- 5.0/5(Captain's Choice)
kids loved it
Best captain in Panama city in my opinion. We did the captains choice and he put us on fish and we caught fish the entire time. He took the time to tell the kids about each different fish. Highly recommend

Fishing with Zachary
Had a great day on the water tides weren’t ideal but capt Zach new where to go. We hit a few different areas trying to work around the low tide still caught some keepers and put some nice ones on the line. I would highly recommend giving him a shot. He’s a great captain extremely friendly and very helpful. I’ll definitely be booking again .

Captain Eddy is awesome!
We booked the night before as a last minute trip and Captain Eddy was so awesome! He was extremely communicative, had everything we could possibly need for the day (and more). We caught a ton of different species, including a shark! He was extremly knowledgeable, and we learned so much during the trip. Thank you Captain Eddy, we’ll be back!!

5 stars! Had an awesome time on this fishing charter. The captain was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. The boat was clean, everything was well organized, and we had a great time out on the water. You could tell the captain really knew where to go and how to put us on fish. Would definitely recommend this charter to anyone looking for a fun day of fishing and a great experience!

Nice Trip!
We caught 3 redfish, 3 trout, and 1 flounder! Some people in our group were beginners, but the captain was super nice and patient with everyone. Highly recommend—go, go, go! 🎣
About Redfish fishing
Redfish, also called Red Drum, are a favorite inshore game fish. Anglers love their power, golden color, and the bold spot near the tail. Redfish fishing is all about sight, stealth, and a clean fight. These fish patrol shallow bays, marshes, and flats, and they crush baits with fast runs.
Most trips use inshore fishing with light tackle. Spinning gear and fly fishing both work well. Live shrimp, mullet, or small crabs are classic baits. Spoons, soft plastics, and topwater plugs also produce action. A popping cork makes a chugging sound that calls fish in. Sight casting means you spot the fish first, then place the lure ahead of it.
Expect calm, shallow water and quick strikes. This is a hands-on style that suits kids, first-timers, and seasoned anglers. Tides and low light often bring the best bite. Bring sun protection, a hat, and polarized sunglasses, which help you see fish in the water. Pack snacks, water, and non-marking shoes. Your captain or guide usually provides tackle and bait.
Rules for Redfish change by state and area. Before your trip, check local license and permit needs. Review season dates, harvest rules, and size and bag limits where you plan to fish. When in doubt, ask your captain and follow best catch-and-release practices.
