The summer heat is here, but the fishing is hot as well. The sharks have been biting - we’ve caught multiple species including lemon sharks, nurse sharks, bull sharks, hammerheads, bonnetheads, black tips, and more. The shark fishing is a great way to bend a rod and teach new anglers heavy tackle techniques. The goliath grouper have been biting along with a good night time mangrove snapper bites. There are still plenty of tarpon in the area - the best to target are the 30-40 lb class fish at night near bridges. Early morning and late evening are the best times to try to target the bigger ones that can go over 100-150lbs. July will bring more good fishing with lots of sharks in the are, and snapper and tarpon evening trips being the best opportunities to target other species.
