Your Fishing Charter

Salty Rods Charters is a family-owned and operated fishing charter in Galveston, Texas. Pack up your family and friends and let's go fishing! The crew believes there is no greater joy than watching kids reel in a fish of a lifetime. Come aboard for a fun-packed trip inshore or offshore and let’s get salty!

Your boat for the day will be a 29’ Dusky center console powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine and equipped with modern GPS, fishfinder, and VHF radio electronics. The boat can accommodate up to 6 anglers and is equipped with a livewell to provide you with live bait. For any help you may need during your trip, there will be a first mate on board at your disposal.

You and the crew can fish inshore, nearshore, offshore, as well as reefs, wrecks, and flats. Using light and heavy tackle, you can bottom fish, troll, and drift fish for lovely species such as Tiger and Bull Shark, Mangrove Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Redfish, and Rays. You’re free to keep your catch, as well as to bring kids on the trip.

The captain will provide you with all the tackle, rods, reels, live bait, and lures. Should you decide to keep your catch, they also clean and fillet it free of charge.

Depending on the time of year, you may even catch Shark! Before you depart, bring a cooler with your drinks and snacks. Alcohol is allowed, just don't bring glass bottles. 4 Hour Trip – Bay and Jetty (AM)

Great winter time trip! There's a variety of inshore species you can catch on this trip, with some of them being Redfish, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Stingray, and Sheepshead. Occasionally, you may catch Shark, depending on the time of year! Bring your small/medium size cooler with your drinks, snacks (alcohol is allowed, no glass bottles), and come join your captain! Departure also possible at 2:00 p.m.

4 Hour Trip – Bay and Jetty (PM)

There's a variety of inshore species you can catch on this trip, with some of them being Black Drum, Redfish, Trout, Flounder, Stingray, and Sheepshead. Occasionally, you may encounter a Shark. Bring your snacks and drinks, and join your captain!

4 Hour Bay and Jetty Trip

On this trip, you'll big rod fish for the apex predator! You'll target Blacktip, Spinner, Bonnethead, and Atlantic Sharpnose with occasional Tiger and Hammerhead Shark! You and the crew can catch other fish as a bonus on this trip as well such as reds, black drum, stingray & jacks. This trip is always an adrenaline rush! (Depending on the time of year, we may stop and spend a short amount of time catching live sand trout - it's half the fun! - If you don't want this let us know ahead of time.)

4 Hour Trip – Shark Hunt (AM)

Come on and have a go at the apex predator of the Gulf of Mexico! You and the crew will chase Spinner, Blacktip, Bonnethead, Atlantic Sharpnose, and even occasional Tiger and Hammerhead Shark. There's also other fish to catch on this trip as a bonus. Reeling in Shark brings utmost joy to everyone! (Depending on the time of year, we may stop and spend a short amount of time catching live sand trout (it's half the fun!) if you don't want to do this, let us know ahead of time.)

4 Hour Trip – Shark Hunt (PM)

Come on and have a go at the apex predator of the Gulf of Mexico! You and the crew will chase Spinner, Blacktip, Bonnethead, Atlantic Sharpnose, and occasionally Tiger and Hammerhead Sharks. Other fish is also available for catching. If the weather conditions are just right and the shrimp boats are close, the chase is on fighting big sharks behind the shrimp boats. Such an adrenaline rush! Depending on time of year, we may spend a short time catching live sand trout, if you don't want to let us know ahead.)

6 Hour Trip – Shark Hunt (AM)

On this trip, a big chase for the apex predator awaits you. You'll go after Spinner, Blacktip, Bonnethead, as well as Atlantic Sharpnose Shark, and even occasional Tiger and Hammerhead. You and the crew can chase other fish as well. Provided that the weather conditions are suitable and the shrimp boats are close, you can chase sharks behind the shrimp boats. Come aboard and enjoy an adrenaline rush! Depending on time of year we may stop for a few minutes and catch live sand trout.

6 Hour Trip – Shark Hunt (PM)

This is the charter's favorite fishing trip! You get the best of both worlds with both light tackle and some big rod action. The trip will start at 12:00 p.m. and last for 6 hours. Just bring snacks, drinks, and licenses and you'll be set to go!
