Your Fishing Charter

Sandy Hook Charters welcomes you aboard and invites you to embark on an unforgettable and private fishing adventure. Our goal is to make sure your charter has fun while catching fish – pretty simple, right? Departing from Leonardo Marina, you can fish Raritan Bay, Sandy Hook Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Join us for a great private fishing trip in New Jersey!

We just repowered a safe and fast fishing machine Everglades 290. This 29’ center console can fit 6 guests and has the latest gear, tackle, and electronics to put your crew on the fish. It uses twin 225 HP Honda engines and outriggers and features an ice-box and a livewell. Of course, the boat is equipped with all the coast guard safety gear and also has an enclosed bathroom.

Our Striped Bass fishery is amazing. Striped Bass have two great seasons- spring and fall. This usually means April until June and then again from October until December.  We use mojos, parker spoons, swim shads, Nomad Vibes, topwater plugs, live bait – anything it takes to catch your fish of a lifetime.

Summer Flounder (a great fish to target with the kids) gets going from June until September. We provide the bucktails and gulp or fresh bait to put the doormats in your cooler.

Black Seabass and Blackfish are prolific in our area and are so good to eat. We will get you on the “good bottom” so you can fill the cooler with these tasty fish. We also catch Cod, Porgy, and Triggerfish on these trips.

We also target Bluefish, Bonito, Albies, Mahi Mahi when in season. 
Our Tuna and or Shark trip are more expensive but are truly memorable. 

Sandy Hook Charters will provide you with all the rods, reels, tackle, and bait. You just bring your food and drinks. If you decide to keep your catch, our crew can clean it and bag it for you. A 20 percent tip is customary if you are satisfied.

We know it's tough to get 6 people together, so we created a trip strictly For 2 anglers. If we are able, we can change the departure time to suit your needs.  We provide everything but feel free to bring your own tackle if you like.  Each additional angler is 110/ea

4 Hour Trip – Striper - 2 anglers

2 Anglers- 440 dollars. Private Boat. We will get you on the grounds quickly and safely. Targeting trophy Striped Bass we will do whatever it takes to put you on the fish. Additional anglers 110/ea. This trip wirks when you cant get 6 guys schedules to work lol.

Afternoon Striper Hunt- 2 anglers

April 1st Blackfish opens!!  We will put you and your crew on the good bottom so you can catch these hard fighting tasty fish. We provide everything you will need. Just bring snacks and drinks.

Half day Blackfish

STRIPERS!!  Everyone likes to catch a striper. Book this trip and catch a fish of a lifetime. check out our photo gallery. we have kids catching fish bigger than themselves. Its been an amazing fishery. we provide everything. Bring your snacks and drinks and get ready.

Half Day Spring stripers

During the summer months, bring the family down to catch some rays and bend some rods with summer Flounder and/or Black Seabass. This is a relaxing trip perfect for casual fishermen and sharpies alike. You'll target Fluke and Seabass. Early in the season, you could be in the bay, and as the season progresses you may fish along the beach, in the channels, or on some deeper rough bottom. We go where the fish are. We also participate in a fish tagging program.

Half Day Trip – Bottom Fishing

If you can't commit to a long day, let's get out there early and be back in time for the game. Four hours of prime-time fishing. We will do whatever it takes: flutter spoons, swimshads, poppers, trolling, live bait – you get the idea. Catch that Striper of a lifetime. Get your kids in on the action. Check our photos.

Half Day Trip – Striper Early

Just for September we will target False Albacore, Bonito, Spanish Mackeral, and Bluefish. We will jig, bait, or troll these great fighting gamefish.

Half day Inshore Speedsters

On this trip, we will target Black Seabass, Codfish, Porgy, Triggerfish, and Blackfish. This is our favorite trip because you never know what you're going to reel up. We provide all the bait and tackle.

3/4 Day Trip – Bottom Fishing

This is a six-hour trip where we will target jumbo fluke on deeper water wrecks and rough bottom. Using bucktails, gulp, and fresh bait we will put you on the most productive bottom to hook into a doormat. We provide top-of-the-line gear and all the tackle if you don't have your own gear. We will fillet your catch and also provide a cooler loaded with ice. You bring your snacks and drinks. Let’s go!

3/4 Day Trip – Fluke

You and the captain will leave at 6:00 a.m. in order to be first out on the grounds. We will troll, jig, liveline, and throw spoons or plugs to put fish in the box. We provide all the gear, so just bring your food and drinks. A 20 percent tip is customary (if satisfied of course).

3/4 Day Trip – Striped Bass

A split trip consisting of hopping from lobsterpot to pot casting to mahi mahi then deep dropping on wrecks looking for tasty bottom fish (groceries).  Limited to 4 anglers.

Unlike anything you have ever caught.   Tangle with a true sea monster. This trip is limited to 4 anglers. We provide all high end rods and reels and whatever is needed

Inshore Giant Tuna

On this trip, we will be targeting yellowfin tuna. Jigging, popping, live bait fishing when available all tackle provided. We do not fish the canyons on this trip.

Inshore Tuna(up to 40 miles)

Lets go hunt Mister Whiptail. A great fight and good table fare, the thresher shark is a strong fish that will sometimes put on an acrobatic show. Limited to 4 anglers. We provide everything needed.
