angler's choice

The Angler's Choice Award is given to listings that consistently deliver a high-quality service and earn great reviews from customers.

Captain Justin Brunk was born in Baltimore, Maryland, where he grew up fishing and crabbing the Chesapeake Bay with his father and brother. Although he's held many construction jobs, including trucking, operating heavy equipment, logging, etc., his love for the water was always there, but no one ever told him it could be a career. He was working construction but wasn't happy, so he packed his bags and moved to the Florida Keys, towing a camper, not having a plan, and not knowing what was going to happen. when he landed his first job as a deckhand, he was as green as green could be in the charter industry. He started to make a name for himself, got his master captain's license, and started running charters out of the Hawks Cay Resort in Marathon, FL. Now he's looking forward to showing you an adventure you'll cherish for a lifetime!

We caught fish...

VERIFIED
NEW

But nothing that was a take-home, dinner fish. Justin was great however. Interacted with the adults and teenage boys very easily. He took us to several of his best spots but hardly anything was biting. We did an afternoon trip and that could have been part of the issue. While docking, a few other Captains also said they didn't catch much.

So-so trip due to weather

VERIFIED

Winds were 18 to 20 out of the southwest before we started. He offered to cancel but Family wanted to go so we showed up. We sheltered behind the bridge of lions and got very few bites. I did catch one nice 5 pound sheep head, which is the only thing we caught. He was reluctant to move around to different places because of the wind. Probably not a fair test of this guide. I would give him another try.
