Your Fishing Charter

On The Swing, LLC is a multi-species guide service based in northern Ohio. Looking to catch some fish in northern Ohio? Then On The Swing has a trip with your name on it! Captain Joe is prepared to put you on fish. 

Capt. Joe has been a professional fishing guide for over a decade, with experience from Ohio to Alaska and back. Your Captain is not just another guy with a captain's license, Joe is a die-hard fisherman/guide who enjoys showing customers a great time on the water. A professional atmosphere, along with expert knowledge, ability to teach, and safety are standard.

Lake Erie is a fantastic fishery, home to Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Freshwater Drum, and Steelhead, which are stocked. There are many other species in Lake Erie also. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Joseph also offers fly fishing.

You'll be fishing from a Ranger 622 Pro Deep-V fishing boat that is outfitted for all aspects of fishing. The boat comfortably fishes 4 people. It has Livescope, leading electronics and all the essentials. Rods, reels, tackle, and any bait are covered by the charter. You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. 

It's always wise to bring rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid glass bottles. 

Fishing takes place across the south border of lake Erie. Boat launch locations go from oak harbor, Ohio to Ashtabula, Ohio. Depending on the time of year and best fishing available. Boat is trailered.

On The Swing – Walleye/Steelhead Trip

Lake Erie is known for its amazing Walleye fishing. Enjoy 8 hours of some great fishing. Fishing style is dependent on your preference and time of year. Certain tactics work well at specific times of the year. 
Capt. Joe offers a different type of fishing trip. We plan to fish a full day, change tactics and maybe catch a few different species if we have our limit of Walleye.
Also, it is always recommended to bring a waterproof jacket and pants. For weather and for wind and water spray.

Night time trolling trip for walleye! Offered just during the fall. Make sure you please bring waterproof jacket and pants, waterproof boat shoes, a headlamp and any snack or drinks you prefer.

Trip focused on catching walleye, mainly trolling used as a tactic. You will be involved in all aspects of the fishing. You will learn how to set rods and be engaged in all activities on the boat.

Remember your captain puts in alot of effort to make sure these trips are successful in the short time frame. Tip appropriately.

Morning trolling trip - Walleye

Afternoon trip option.
Trip focused on catching walleye, mainly trolling used as a tactic. You will be involved in all aspects of the fishing. You will learn how to set rods and be engaged in all activities on the boat.
Also, it is always recommended to bring a waterproof jacket and pants. For weather and for wind and water spray.

Remember your captain puts in alot of effort to make sure these trips are successful in the short time frame. Tip appropriately.

Afternoon trolling trip - Walleye

Fall/winter time trips are nearshore in the harbors and rivers. Fishing can be a mixture of tactics from trolling, casting, and drifting.

Also, it is always recommended to bring a waterproof jacket and pants. For weather and for wind and water spray.

All tackle and bait are provided.

Multiple harbors and launch locations are used. We may not be fishing in cleveland.

8 Hr. Trip – Near Shore Steelhead

Summertime offshore trolling for Steelhead. This trip can be extremely action-packed. Usually, the catch must be kept. The difficulty with this trip is having the right weather to make it offshore comfortably.

Fall/winter time trips are nearshore in the harbors and rivers. Fishing can be a mixture of tactics from trolling, casting, and drifting.

Also, it is always recommended to bring a waterproof jacket and pants. For weather and for wind and water spray.

All tackle and bait are provided.
