Your Fishing Charter

Spend the day with Fernandez Charters and find out what the fishing in San Diego is all about! Your guide for the day is Captain Pablo, who offers years of angling experience. 

These waters are known for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Calico Bass, Halibut, Rockfish, Pacific Barracuda, Bonito, Skipjack Tuna, Lobster, and more – with any luck, it won't be long before "Fish on!" For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Pablo also offers kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. 

Your fishing machine for the day is the Kate Elizabeth. She is a 33' Boston Whaler sport fishing vessel with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is provided as needed and included with trips.

Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen. Water and Gatorade  is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks. during and after the trip. An industry standard tip of 10-20% is greatly appreciated! Gratuity should be based on the performance,  professionalism, and knowledge of the Captain and crew.  As a rule of thumb 10-20% average and good service 20% and up = excellent/outstanding!

Anywhere from Point Loma to La Jolla. We can fish the harbor if the clients prefer to stay inside.

Inshore-4 Hour(AM)

4 Hour Trip – Local (PM)

Stay close to shore, get your fill of California Spiny Lobster and be back to vehicle in 3 hours! We fish inside and outside of Mission Bay. We depart one hour before sunset and return to dock within 3 hours. Bring warm clothes and rain boots. Perhaps a change of clothes and definitley rain gear if rain is in the forecast! Its always good out there! This trip will run during the rain. Its actually a great time to hunt for lobster when it does! Light snacks, water, gatorade, tea, coffee, cocoa provided.

Lobster Hoop Netting (Mission Bay)

Point Loma to La Jolla. We’ll find anything that’s biting. Great introductory trip since we’ll be within 20 minutes of slip the whole time. Perfect for young anglers!

Inshore-8 Hour (AM)

We chase anything and everything looking for pelagic species like Bluefin, Yellowfin, Dorado, Yellowtail, Skipjack, Bonito, and anything else!

Offshore-Half Day

I’ll walk you through the online licensing processing. This trip requires additional permits and one must have a passport. The Coronado Islands are beautiful and have several options for quality fish! One of my favorite trips! Well go anywhere from 8-12 hours.

We will go after anything and everything, targeting all the pelagics! Paddy hopping all the way!

Offshore-Three Quarter Day

Coronado Islands-Full Day

Full-day offshore is by far the best offshore package because we have plenty of time on a 12-hour trip to move from zone to zone as needed. We will target all pelagic species and mix the bag up with quality Rock Cod.

Offshore-Full Day

San Clemente Island is amazing for several reasons. There are Home-guard Yellowtail, quality Calico Bass, and plenty of pelagic species nearby during the season. While traveling there and back we can also hit every paddy on the voyage.
