Spend a day plying the waters off Ucluelet, British Columbia, with Oceans West Adventures. Target Chinook (King), Coho, and Lingcod along the rock line, or venture offshore to the banks for Halibut and Salmon.

Captain Scott's experience and guest-centered approach gives novice and experienced anglers alike a great foundation for a successful day aboard. 

You’ll fish a 2020 custom 30’ Northwest Aluminum Craft that can accommodate up to 8 guests. It is powered by twin 250 HP Mercury SeaPro 4.6L V8 outboards and a comprehensive navigational suite from Simrad that will help you have a successful trip. There's a private marine head (toilet) forward, and guest lunch and beverage cooler (separate from the fish cooler) for your convenience.

Safety is at the forefront of Scott's planning and decisions on the water. This vessel is one of two fishing charter boats in Ucluelet to offer guests and crew the added safety of a life raft and EPIRB. This vessel packs an 8-man self-inflating Zodiac life raft, cradle mounted atop the house with a hydrostatic release. This 2022 unit is certified for commercial vessel use by Transport Canada and USCG.

This vessel has high gunnels and railings, great for containing kids. Scott welcomes kiddos on his trips. When booking with children under 10, please mention their ages in your message so we can confirm trip suitability, and suggest any trip alterations when beneficial. 

The species you can encounter on your trip include Chinook (King) and Coho (Silver) Salmon,  Halibut, Lingcod, and Rockfish.  You can retain or release the fish you catch. 

The captain provides premium fishing gear and will clean your catch after the trip. Please bring snacks and drinks for your group, as well as fishing licenses.

October/ November brings great historical lingcod fishing to our rockline bottom fishery. Lingcod and Rockfish season runs until November 15th. Bottom fishing along the coastline from Barkley Sound up to Florencia Bay is well suited to the half day charter.

Half Day Trip (Spring Rates)

Spend a morning fishing for Salmon, Lingcod, and rockfish in some of the most scenic spots on the British Columbia coast. The captain will provide all the rods, reels, tackle, lures, as well as catch cleaning.

Spend an afternoon fishing for Salmon and Lingcod in one of the most scenic spots on the British Columbia coast. 

The captain will provide all the rods, reels, tackle, lures, as well as catch cleaning.

Half Day Trip

Experience one of the most scenic coastlines found anywhere in British Columbia. Cruise historical Humpback and Grey Whale feeding grounds into Barkley Sound or North towards Long Beach. Hang out with the marine wildlife and drop the fishing gear for a chance at catching Salmon or Lingcod. 

This is a great way to experience a Whale/ Wildlife trip in a private boat setting while offering  a chance to catch dinner.

5 Hour Whale Watch/ Fish Combo

Spend 6 hours with your crew plying the waters surrounding The Pacific Rim this spring. 

Fish for Chinook Salmon (Kings), Lingcod, and Rockfish along the rockline, or in Barkley Sound. When conditions are right, this trip offers an opportunity at Halibut on the inner banks.

3/4 Day Trip

This 6 hour is our recommendation for winter fishing trips (Nov- Feb).   

  Drop the crab traps before Embarking on an hour long cruise across to the protected waters of Barkley Sound. Journey down amongst The Broken Group Islands to the sheltered winter fishing grounds from Sechart Channel to Swale Rock. Set the Prawn traps and drop the lines for Chinook (King) Salmon. End the day by pulling the Prawn and Crab traps before we're harbour bound.

3/4 Day Winter Harvest Trip

5 Hour Whale Watch/ Fishing Combo

Fish for Salmon along the rockline, target Chinook and Coho in the waters of Barkley Sound, or venture outside the surf line chasing Halibut and Lingcod. Departure time for this trip may be flexible on request. 5% GST, gratuity, and fishing license not included.

3/4 Day Morning Trip

Fish for Salmon along the rockline, target Chinook and Coho in the waters of Barkley Sound, or venture offshore chasing Halibut, Salmon, and Lingcod.

A package based on our 3-bedroom house (we have 5 different accommodation options). 3 days fishing and 3 nights accommodation at our 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 1700 square foot vacation rental (Timbers – Rainforest Retreat). An open-concept main area features a large modern kitchen, post and beam living room, and dining table for 8. Timbers bedrooms can be set up with up to 6 beds, including 2 kings and a queen.
