There's great fishing to be done on the inshore waters and flats just off the Gulf of America. Captain Cory Russell is not only a fisherman but an all-round outdoor enthusiast who also loves to go duck hunting and on Texan river adventures.

When you meet with him at the marina he’ll take you aboard his 23' Freedom Warrior center console boat. It’s a steady craft that can handle the nearshore waters and flats with ease.

The potential catches here are varied so you can expect great catches and even better meals once you’re home. Redfish and Trout are common here so they’ll be your main target but you can also come across Largemouth Bass, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, and Blacktip Shark when you’re out cruising about. He’s got both light and heavy tackle to get the job done and uses techniques such as popping, spinning, bottom fishing, and jogging to get the job done.

Live bait is sometimes used especially when kids are aboard to mix it up a bit. He’ll fetch that for you before the trip begins. If you want to take your fish home he’s happy to clean them for you so you don’t need to worry about that. Water is provided so feel free to bring extra drinks and some food along with you as well as weather-appropriate clothing.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler wanting to fill the freezer or new to the sport and want to learn the ropes, a great adventure awaits you here on the coast.

If you want to get your fishing over and done with before the harsh sun starts to beat on your back then get yourself out for a morning of fishing and be back ashore ready for a luscious lunch. When Captain Cory takes you out you'll be targeting mostly Redfish and Trout but you're likely to come across scores of other game fish such as Shark, Flounder, and Spanish Mackerel.

There is no better way to get you into fishing than an afternoon adventure on the Gulf of Mexico’s inshore waters. A variety of bread and butter techniques can be demonstrated such as spinning, bottom fishing, jigging, and popping. So you're bound to learn something new when you’re out chasing after Redfish and Trout with Cory.

Half Day Trip (PM)

When you double your time on the water you’re bound to come home with fuller bags. Make sure you have plenty of space in the freezer for Redfish and Speckled Trout you'll be targeting. If you're not too confident at cleaning these fish then Captain Cory is able to fillet them for you. The fun is not all about the food afterward though. You'll be using a variety of techniques to try and score some big ones, such as spinning, popping, jigging, and bottom fishing.
