         Looking to catch some fish? Look no further than Rock on Fishing! 

Having logged many hours on the Chesapeake Bay, Captain Scott and Capt Giovanni will make it happen.

You're likely to go after Striped Bass, Cobia, Redfish, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, Spotted Seatrout, White Perch, and more, depending on when you go. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Scott can also help you try kite fishing. 

Trips with Rock on Fishing are kid-friendly, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly! 

You'll be welcome aboard a 30' Pathfinder center console with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. 

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you have any question on what to expect, ask the captain.

It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

This is a one angler and guide trip. Great opportunity to 'tune up' your casting and fly-fishing skills. You will be the only one fishing and have the boat to yourself.
We will be fishing our Hewes 21 Redfisher. It is equipped with Garmin electronics (Hummingbird side scan coming this spring), a 300HP Yamaha and a Motor Guide trolling motor.
Rod holders…GOT THEM!!!  Room for 8 fly rods plus tons of storage.

They love teaching as much as they love fishing. If you're looking for an upbeat team to provide you and your family with a trip to remember for a lifetime, look no further!

Family/Kid fishing trip!!

Pick what you want to fish for! We can accommodate most requests! Experience hands-on light tackle jigging and top-water fishing for a variety of different species. You will be fishing for Red Drum, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish. To keep you on the best fishing possible, you move where the fish moves! Therefore, the location, time of launch, and time of return may change some due to fish migration. Rockfish (Striped Bass) and Perch are also targeted.

Half day Trip

Spring shad run or trout and redfish in the shallows.We have all Orvis fly rods available . Trip will be on our 21' Hewes Redfisher boat. Great trip to get on some fun fish to catch and see some of the Chesapeake Bays back country. This is a two person maximum trip. Use our equipment or bring you own.

Fly Fishing Shad Trout Redfish

Great trip for light tackle back country on the Chesapeake Bay! We are running our 21' Hewes Redfisher boat to get way back in the shallow bays and islands of the middle bay and Tangier Sound. Limited to max of 3 anglers. Enjoy secluded fishing for Shad, Trout and Redfish.

Half day Trip - 12:30 PM

We are one of only a few who truly target these fish!
The Bay is home to some of the biggest Cobia in the world! We do not catch small fish on this trip. It's hardcore fishing & fun!

 Here's a summary of a typical day. Depart at first light and run down the bay at a smooth 40mph. You'll get on the front casting deck waiting for the crew to call out a fish. You cast, work the bait, then BAM! Fish on! That's what sight fishing for giant Cobia and Redfish is about!

Redfish/Cobia

April 2026 — It’s go time down south.

We’ll be launching out of Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel targeting migrating bull redfish.

Our captains are on these fish daily and know exactly where they want to be.

Want a bull red on fly? This is your shot.

5+ hour trips with tons of sight fishing, plus we’ll stay on fish using top-end electronics. Expect shots at giant bluefish and striped bass as well.
