Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Speckled Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Striped Bass, Flounder, Bluefish, Tarpon, and plenty more. On these trips, it’s common to drift and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Dave also offers fly fishing, but you will need to bring your own fly gear.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!

Your fishing machine for the day is a 2025 Parker Offshore 23SE center console with a capacity for 4 fishing passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Capt. Dave has rods and reels for you, along with lures.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Don’t forget to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Offering a wide array of species, Captain Dave enjoys the art of fly fishing & offers a special 'Fly Fishing' trip for the 'stealth-loving' fly angler. If 'chasing Tails' or 'rolling for poons' is your thing, the 'Skiplett' is a shallow water vessel that can get into the skinny water. 6 Hour Trip – Fly Fishing

During the early summer, Tarpon and 'Old' Drum or 'Bull Drum' begin to migrate to the Pamlico Sound, the Neuse River & the Pamlico River to spawn. These majestic creatures start schooling & 'rolling' in late June and stay much of the summer and fall. Starting Mid July, world record Redfish start their schooling and feeding phase allowing for the area to hold 18 of 24 IFGA World Records for Redrum, Captain Dave has mastered the art of catching these fish in his 40 years of chasing these behemoth fish.
