Located in Wanchese, NC, Black Flag Fishing OBX is a charter service that is all about fishing, family, and fun! With years of experience on the water, Captain Marler goes to every measure to ensure everyone aboard gets an opportunity to catch a fish and have the adventure of a lifetime, regardless of your level of experience.

Your trip begins on a 21' Parker SE, outfitted with a 150hp Yamaha, jack plate, and the latest technology to ensure we put you exactly where you need to be to catch fish.

You will be targeting; Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, and Cobia depending on your preference and the season. For these species, you’re likely to jig, troll, and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Marler also offers fly fishing, but you will need to provide your own gear.

Your charter will include your fishing license, rods, reels, and tackle. Live bait is also an option when available. The charter also provides coolers, ice, and bottled water. Be sure to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and any other drinks or snacks you may desire. They only ask that you pack light so the maximum amount of space for fishing is ensured.

Join Black Flag for the morning charter, our favorite time of the day!  During this trip, we will fish a variety of spots where we will target Drum, Flounder, Trout, Sheepshead, and Bluefish. Just let the Captain know what your goal is for the trip and he will do his best to make that fishing dream a reality.

Half Day Trip (AM)

This 4-hour, afternoon trip will allow for fishing around the sound and inlet where we will target a variety of species like Drum, Flounder, Trout, Sheepshead, and Bluefish.

Half Day Trip (PM)

This 6 hour trip starts at 7 AM and will allow for a deeper exploration of the sound, inlet and ocean. Just let the Captain know your preference. Target species include sight casting to Drum, Cobia and more!
