SOA Charters fish out of Charleston and Winchester Bay Oregon, offering a variety of fishing trips. They are experts at what they do, and being led by Captain Travis Marsh means they will not only put you on the fish but ensure you are having lots of fun, too! 

Captain Travis will take you in search of different species of fish. In the nearshore waters, you can target a variety of Rockfish, Crab, and Lingcod. A little further out, and you could be targeting Halibut, and in the deep offshore waters, you will fish for Bluefin Tuna. 

You will fish aboard a 2020 28’ foot Hewes Craft deck boat, powered by twin 150 hp Yamaha engines with a maximum cruising speed of 40 knots. This speed means you don’t waste time on lengthy travel out to the fishing grounds and use it instead on what you came to do. Fishing. 

The boat also has all the navigation features such as a GPS and a fishfinder which will help you locate the most productive fishing spots. All fishing gear is provided and includes rods, reels, tackle, live and artificial baits, and all safety equipment such as life jackets.

SOA Charters will happily clean, fillet and bag your fish upon return to the dock, with the exception of Tuna. Tuna can be cleaned on the docks for a small fee by the cleaners available there. 

Captain Travis carries a USCG six-pack charter license, he is CPR and First-Aid certified and holds a TWIC card.

Trips can only be booked if there are a minimum of 3 people in the group. License and tags are required ans can be purched online or local retailers.

Come join us for a half day on the beautiful Umpqua River chasing small mouth bass, this trip is action packed. Water Temp is 78 degr so fill free to wear your suit and go for a swim.

4 hour Small Mouth Bass

You will be fishing for Perch. The maximum number of persons on this trip is 4. Limit of Perch is 15 each person.

Perch Fishing (PM)

Spend the day chasing Coho and Chinook Salmon on one of the local rivers – Umpqua, Smith, Coquille, or Coos. Up to 4 The trip leaves at 8:00 a.m. and lasts for 7 hours.

8 Hour Trip – Shad

8 Hour Trip – Winter Steelhead

This is your chance to catch a Oregon Trophy Lingcod, we will be fishing deep water reefs. Electric reels will be available as well. This is a seasonal trip.

You will fish for Fall Salmon out of Winchester Bay along with the Umpqua And Coos Rivers. **Please note that fishing is currently hot in Winchester Bay, so the meet-up spot might change depending on what's biting!

Salmon Fishing And Crabbing (AM)

You will fish for Fall Salmon out of Winchester Bay along with the Umpqua And Coos Rivers. Salmon are most active March through June. **Please note that fishing is currently hot in Winchester Bay, so the meet-up spot might change depending on what's biting!

Salmon Fishing And Crabbing (PM)

This is an 8-hour trip. Your limit is one halibut a day, 6 a year. The filleting fee is $5.00 per fish. Max seats 6, departure times vary depending on tides. The crew likes to be out before 7:00 a.m. You have the abilty to target sharks as well.

8 Hour Trip – Halibut

This is a Tuna fishing trip that can take you out anywhere from 20 to 40 nautical miles offshore. Tuna comes in closer to the shore from June to October when you can catch it 20 miles offshore. It then moves further out with the warm currents. Please note that this trip is weather permitting since you're going further offshore. **Please note that fishing is currently hot in Winchester Bay, so the meet-up spot might change depending on what's biting!
