Your Fishing Charter

Spend the day with Vieques Blue Water Charters and find out what the fishing in Esperanza is all about! With Captain Chris at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.

Species like Great Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. On these trips, you can expect to troll. 

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to keep 'em happy! 

Your boat for the day is a 27' Grady-White center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.

You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
