Vieques Blue Water Charters
Spend the day with Vieques Blue Water Charters and find out what the fishing in Esperanza is all about! With Captain Chris at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
Species like Great Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. On these trips, you can expect to troll.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to keep 'em happy!
Your boat for the day is a 27' Grady-White center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Vieques Blue Water Charters.

Some charters seem to be on a routine and dont care if it works that day or not. Jackson and Chris put effort into the day, changing rigs, and constantly clearing sargassum to keep gear in the water.

Thanks! We really enjoyed spending the morning on the water with you and your family. Hope to see you in Virques again!
They all felt like friends of the family! Very accommodating and helped us to make memories that will last a lifetime!
Chris grew up fishing and powerboating his whole life. In the early 90's, he learned to sail and acquired a Coastal Cruising Sailing certification from the American Sailing Association. In 2010, he transitioned back to powerboating and offshore fishing where he ran his Scout Abaco 262 40-miles off the coast of Charleston, SC. Now full-time in Vieques, Chris captains a Grady White 271 Canyon center console named Sin Estress (Without Stress).
