Moondance Charters Of Montauk and TUNA TIME invite you on a fishing extravaganza in the waters of Montauk, New York. Montauk is a fishing haven known for its excellent fishery and top boat captains. One of these top captains is Captain Sal Trapani. Captain Sal has fished the inshore and offshore waters of Montauk for over 35 years and is keen on showing you his favorite secret fishing spots.

TUNA TIME is the new SeaVee tuna boat that cruises at 40 mph. Gets you tuna fishing in no time!

Seahorse, the roomy and comfortable 35’ Bruno is the inshore boat. 

You will be offered full service on both vessels. Bot vessels are fully equipped with all the USCG approved safety equipment such as life jackets, EPIRB, and a CPR-trained crew. You will also find all the navigational features needed to make your trip productive, and these features include a GPS, a radar, a marine radio, and a fishfinder.

Some of the species you can target on your inshore trip include the famous big Montauk Striped Bass, Tuna, Black Seabass, Tautog, Scup, Bluefish, and Flounder. 

If you venture further out you can expect to target Bluefin, and Yellowfin Tuna, for an experience you’ll never forget. 

Captain Sal and his crew will provide you with the necessary fishing gear that includes rods, reels, tackle, live and artificial baits, a fishing license, and you’ll have a first mate on board, too.

They are able to take seasoned anglers out, but are also very good at teaching and are very patient with beginners. They love taking families with small children on the water and teaching them all about this amazing fishery that produces a wide variety of species.

This is a shark trip where you can go anywhere from 10-20 offshore and chum for Shark. The crew like to catch Mako, as that is the best eating Shark. But you can run into Hammerhead, Blue Shark, and sometimes a Great White, which is a protected species and is not fished for.

This is a half day inshore trip that will see you fishing for 5 hours. This is a great option for anglers new to the sport and anyone looking to get familiar with the local fishery. You will have the chance to target any species you want including Fluke, Tautog, Striped Bass, Scup, Dogfish, and more.

5 Hour Trip – Inshore

This is a trip right before the sun sets. It is a beautiful time to be on the water and the fish are usually biting big time. This is a great opportunity for any angler looking to target the likes of Striped Bass, Flounder, Bluefish, and Black Seabass.

4 Hour Trip – Magic Hour Trip

This is a full day on the water with 8 hours of fishing. It's perfect for inshore fishing fanatics of all skill levels. This is a deluxe multi-species trip that will take you to the best spots in the area and can see you targeting Tautog, Fluke, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Black Seabass, and more!

8 Hour Trip – Inshore

This is all about getting out there quick and trying to hammer some tuna, see some whales and dolphins and come back. It's an exciting trip! It gets you out offshore a bit and you can experience the thrill of a tuna on the line. We’ve gotten them on this trip.

This is an inshore trolling and jigging trip for Bluefin and mahi and Yellowfin Tuna if close. It's a great option for any angler dreaming of battling these deep-sea beasts. You will start to troll anywhere from 8 to 10 miles out. Tuna have been coming in close the last two years. This trip can be combined with a little mahi fishing on the pots. 

For this trip we will use the SeaVee 32 TUNA TIME(40 mph cruise) for five passengers or less.

8 Hour Trip – Tuna

This is a 10 hour tuna trip. We might venture out a little further if weather window looks good. This is another chance to test your skill against the majestic tuna. We can fish for mahi on this trip as well. This trip is exciting and challenging We will be on TUNA TIME the 33 foot rocket ship that cruises at 40 mph. All equipmrnt snd gear is too notch and brand new.
