Moondance Charters Of Montauk invites you on a fishing extravaganza in the waters of Montauk, New York. Montauk is a fishing haven known for its excellent fishery and top boat captains. One of these top captains is Captain Sal Trapani. Captain Sal has fished the inshore and offshore waters of Montauk for over 35 years and is keen on showing you his favorite secret fishing spots.

You will be offered a full service by Moondance Charters on a roomy and very safe; Bruno downeast. The vessel is fully equipped with all the USCG approved safety equipment such as life jackets, EPIRB, and a CPR-trained crew. You will also find all the navigational features needed to make your trip productive, and these features include a GPS, a radar, a marine radio, and a fishfinder.

Some of the species you can target on your inshore trip include the famous big Striped Bass, Black Seabass, Tautog, Scup, Bluefish, and Flounder. If you venture further out you can expect to target Cod, Dogfish, Bluefin, and Yellowfin Tuna, and a variety of Sharks such as Mako and Blue Shark.

Captain Sal and his crew will provide you with the necessary fishing gear that includes rods, reels, tackle, live and artificial baits, a fishing license, and you’ll have a first mate on board, too.

They are able to take seasoned anglers out, but are also very good at teaching and are very patient with beginners. They love taking families with small children on the water and teaching them all about this amazing fishery that produces a wide variety of species.

This is a shark trip where you can go anywhere from 10-20 offshore and chum for Shark. The crew like to catch Mako, as that is the best eating Shark. But you can run into Hammerhead, Blue Shark, and sometimes a Great White, which is a protected species and is not fished for.
