Spend the day with Capt. Colton of Vero Beach Fishing Charters on Headwaters Lake and let them show you what makes the fishing in Fellsmere so memorable!

These waters are known for Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! For these species, you're likely to bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Colton also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. You're free to take home some of the fish you catch within the legal limit.

Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to keep up those energy levels! 

Capt. Colton runs a 22' Triton bay boat with space for 4 adults or 5 with children. It comes with fighting chairs and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures.

You will need to get a state fishing license before the trip if you are 16 and over. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
