Book your next trip with Stay Salty Charters and find out what the fishing in Port Aransas is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Charles can tell you all about them. 

Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Black Drum, Flounder, Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Spotted Seatrout, and anything else that bites. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, popping, drifting, or maybe something more specialized in this area. 

Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Charles will have some on board! 

You'll be dropping lines from a 23' Explorer bay boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Capt. Charles will supply rods and reels for you. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some bottled water on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Our half-day trip consist of going out early morning, getting the first bite on some Pretty spectacular redfish and trout right when the sun is coming up and fish till noon
