Miss Nell is docked at Safe Harbor Marina in Wanchese, North Carolina. Come aboard Miss Nell, a sport fisher built by Sheldon Midgett, one of the innovators of the world-renowned Carolina-style boat. Our Captain and crew will show you a great time fishing the area’s inshore and nearshore waters. We will make sure you have a safe, fun, and successful trip, so pick your day and hop aboard!

Miss Nell is a restored 44’ Custom Carolina offshore sportfishing boat proven for fishing the waters of the Atlantic off of Oregon Inlet, NC. It features ample seating for up to 6 guests, an enclosed bathroom, an air-conditioned salon, and a safe and dependable 705 HP Caterpillar diesel engine. The boat has all the modern navigation technology, a flybridge, as well as outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and two additional fishing chairs in the cockpit. A first mate will also join your trip for all the help you may need.

Inshore and nearshore, we target Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and various species as they pass through our inshore waters. Bottom fishing trips and sound fishing trips include species of Bass and Trout, Mackerel, Drum, Cobia, and others. 

Offshore, we target Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish, and Marlin. 

As you’re covered for all the tackle, lures, as well as fishing licenses, the only things you should bring on your trip are your food and drinks. Also, you can have your catch cleaned at the marina. Payment for the fish cleaning will require cash.  Another thing to keep in mind is that the first mate works for a customary 20% tip.

On this trip we venture out to the Gulfstream 40 miles offshore. There we will set out and troll for Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, and anything else that is biting. We could hook up on a big shark! Capt. will discuss departure time, but usually this trip leaves the dock at 5 am. and will return in the late afternoon. Bring plenty to drink and eat. We have what you need to fish!

A spacious cockpit and salon provide ample room for your group in shade or sun, with 3 fighting/fishing chairs and a private bathroom. Everything you need to enjoy a day on the water. Just bring what you want to eat and drink. The trip lasts from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Half Day – Nearshore 10:30 am

Fishing in the ocean within 1-3 miles of the beach, weather permitting, or in the sound for Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, False Albacore, Cobia, and other species, with calm sea conditions, making this a good choice for children and families. A spacious cockpit and salon provide ample room for your group in shade or sun, with 3 fighting/fishing chairs and a private bathroom. Everything you need to enjoy a day on the water. Just bring what you want to eat and drink. The trip lasts from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Half Day – Nearshore 12:30 pm

This trip gives you more time to fish for different species and lets the Capt. move around to find what's biting. Fishing in the ocean, weather permitting, or in the sound. You fish for Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, False Albacore, Cobia, and other species, A spacious cockpit and salon provide ample room in shade or sun. We have everything you need to enjoy a day on the water. Just bring what you want to eat and drink.

3/4 Day Nearshore 6 am

3/4 Day Nearshore 12:30 pm

On this trip you will venture offshore further to a tower to fish for larger fish, Amberjack, mahi as well as Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, False Albacore, Cobia, and other species, A spacious cockpit and salon provide ample room for your group in shade or sun, with 3 fighting/fishing chairs and a private bathroom. Everything you need to enjoy a day on the water. Just bring what you want to eat and drink.

6 hr Tower Trip 6 am

On this trip you will venture further offshore to a tower to fish for larger fish, Amberjack, mahi as well as Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, False Albacore, Cobia, and other species, A spacious cockpit and salon provide ample room for your group in shade or sun, with 3 fighting/fishing chairs and a private bathroom. Everything you need to enjoy a day on the water. Just bring what you want to eat and drink.

6 hr Tower Trip 12:30 pm

This is a full day of fishing! This will include trolling for Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Cobia, and Drum depending upon the time of year. We may venture a little further offshore, and to the tower for a chance at a bigger bite. This is not an offshore deep sea/ Gulf Stream fishing trip. Your departure time is flexible.
