There's a fish with your name on it in Surf City and Reelgoodtimezcharter will help you catch it! Captained by local Hunter Griffeth, who’s been fishing these waters for the past 15 years he knows these waters like the back of his hand and will ensure you that he’ll do whatever it takes to put you on the fish! 

Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, Redfish, Sheepshead, Black Seabass, Bluefish (Tailor), Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Weakfish, Ladyfish, Cobia, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the time of year.

On these trips, it’s common that inshore we fish light tackle on marsh flats, around oysters beds, creeks and docks. Nearshore we like to troll and bottom fish using light tackle, and fishing over artificial reefs and ledges 

Reelgoodtimezcharter welcomes kids aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly! 

You'll step aboard a 18' Bay boat with space for 3 passengers. It comes with all the essentials.

Capt. Hunter will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

It's always wise to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). A case of water is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

If bottom fishing, we commonly target Black sea bass, Triggerfish, Flounder, along with many other bottom species. The 4-hour inshore charter is perfect for anglers looking to experience the best of Surf City's local waters in a half-day trip. These trips focus on fishing creeks, flats, and channels while targeting popular inshore species like Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead. The 4-hour trip offers plenty of time to learn, fish hard, and enjoy the water, making it a great option for families, beginners, and experienced anglers alike.

On a half-day nearshore trip, we target Spanish mackerel, Bluefish, King mackerel, and Cobia while trolling. If bottom fishing, we commonly target Black sea bass, Triggerfish, Flounder, along with many other bottom species. 

Please let the captain know in advance if you would prefer trolling or bottom fishing, as a 4-hour trip will typically focus on one style of fishing rather than both.
