Captain Bryce Schmidt has fished the waters surrounding Florida his entire life. He is very keen on sharing this experience with other people as they’re both passionate anglers and involved in making sure your trips with them are as fun and exciting as possible.

Climb aboard the 24’ Triton center console, powered by a 225 HP Yamaha outboard engine. The vessel is capable of holding 5 anglers at the same time comfortably. It’s capable of developing a maximum cruising speed of up to 52 knots, allowing you to get to the fishing grounds in no time. It comes equipped with outriggers for trolling, as well as a full suite of electronics for finding the fish.

You will go after a very mixed batch of species on this charter, ensuring every trip is different and more memorable than the last one. Amberjack, Black Drum, Redfish, Cobia, Tarpon, sharks, and other exciting prey are targeted. The techniques used will mainly be bottom fishing and trolling.

All of the equipment required is provided by the charter, quality-recognized brands such as Penn and Shimano. Live bait is provided for the customers at no additional price on the trips. Schmidt Happens Fishing is a child-friendly charter and while there is no minimum age for children, Captain Eric recommends that they be 3 years or older. They provide vests in all sizes, as well as all required safety items as per Coast Guard standards.

You will fish the creeks, intercoastal waterway or possibly the St. Mary's jetties on this half-day trip. The targeted species are Red Drum, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Trout and others. During the summer months you'll be going after King Mackerel as it's very active then. Sharks are always a possibility as well

This is the perfect opportunity to get the little ones out on the water and short enough to hold their attention span. Meet us at the Fernandina harbor for a short boat ride to the fishing grounds. We provide all the equipment, bait, and safety gear. Just bring your snack and drinks and be ready for some fun.

2 Hour Trip – Kids Fishing

This trip will take you to the many natural reefs in the area as well as the numerous wrecks. The fish you'll be going after is Red Snapper, Groupers, Sea Bass, Cobia, and others. In the summer the King Mackerel is in season and on the menu.

Half Day Trip - Nearshore PM

The full-day trip is a fantastic opportunity to go after some proper pelagic fish. Trolling for Kingfish will be on the target list as well as bottom fishing. You will also target Amberjack, Redfish, Black Drum, Sea Bass, Triggerfish, and others. All required equipment is provided for this trip.
