Your Fishing Charter

The Texas Coastal Bend is surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of Copano and Aransas Bays, nearby San Antonio, and Matagorda Bays, and is home to some seriously plentiful fishing grounds – especially when it comes to fly fishing. Fly Fishing Rockport, located in Rockport, TX, warmly welcomes you to come aboard and explore some of the hottest fly fishing spots that the Texas Coast has to offer!

The owner, Captain Jeff Johnson, is the fly fishing fanatic behind the wheel of this charter. In 1997, he moved to Bozeman where, in his own words, he attended college a little, and fly fished a lot! This is where he honed his skills, and after years of freshwater fishing, he decided to expand his business to the saltwater fishing grounds of the Coastal Bend of Texas. Here, he and his crew offer guests of all ages and abilities the opportunity to experience some incredible fly fishing through a variety of top angling trips.

You’ll be fishing from a 2021, 18’ Hell's Bay flats boat, built to cruise the seriously shallow waters of Rockport. She can accommodate up to 2 anglers, so you’ll be treated to a seriously personal and hands-on experience! She’s decked out with top-notch navigational gear, life jackets, a cooler for refreshments, and an icebox to store your catch. 

With excellent year-round populations of Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Black Drum, Rockport is the perfect place to either learn or hone some serious fly fishing skills. The crew will take you to the hottest spots and show you the best techniques to hook your catch. You’ll also have the opportunity to target other species such as Jack Crevalle and the hard-fighting Tarpon. These are fish that’ll challenge any angler.

This full day trip is perfect for anglers who can think of nothing better than spending 8 hours out on the Rockport flats, fly fishing for some world-famous species such as Redfish, Tarpon, Sheepshead, and plenty more. Capt. Jeff will make sure you're decked out with top-notch saltwater fly fishing rods – but feel free to bring your own if you have a favorite rod! Flies, tippet, and terminal tackle are included as well. His cooler is always stocked with water, other beverages, and extra ice for beer!
